......somehow i don't feel this is going to be a good thing for the doctors foster and smith business -- just my personal opinion.

I don't know if it'll make any difference. I suppose the main thing they could do is raise prices---I've always found Drs F&S to be pretty reasonable and Petco is expensive. But maybe that's because it costs more to run an actual store instead of just a mail-order business. The products they offer are about the same.

I like Foster and Smith and have ordered a lot of stuff from them throughout the years. I honestly don't know how I feel about that, but like you, MickNsnicks2mom, I don't think it bodes all that well for F & S. And that would be a shame.

This is really disappointing.  Foster and Smith has great prices on some things, and the last order I made with them(joint support formulas, gerbil supplies) arrived within two days.  I avoid PetCo, for the most part.

Oh wow had no idea.  Foster and smith saved REALLY came through a few years back.  Had some rescue kittens with eye issue and they got the medicine there SO fast.  I always tried to order from them when I needed something because of that. In NJ Petco is way pricier then Petsmart and dirtier for the stores I have been to.  I do like they do shot clinics.  I had a few cats Felv/Fiv tested where the vet would have done it for 120 or so as needs exam and they did it for 40 I think.
