The ingredients in the chicken look good, but I would like to know where it is made and where the ingredients come from. The company does not provide this info on their website, at least not that I could find. They just say that the ingredients are sourced from a human grade facility, so I am guessing it is made overseas--Thailand perhaps?

Yes, I believe it is Thailand based on some comments I read on Chewy and Amazon.

According to http://www.petbusiness.com/articles/2012-08-28/Siblings-Launch-Against-the-Grain-Food-, the owners of Against the Grain previously worked for Evangers which their parents owned. The Evangeres web site says their products are made in the US so I imagine Against the Grain also uses the same suppliers. "Against the Grain uses fresh ingredients and is grain and gluten free. All of its meats are GMO and antibiotic free, and are sourced locally to the manufacturing plant. Its canned cat food uses fresh ocean-caught fish. Its canned dog food is manufactured at the Evanger’s factory."

I'm not sure if I would want the Sher siblings to make my cat's food if they are associated with Evanger's. Their parents/owners of Evanger's were charged with theft (2 million dollars), money laundering, trying to bribe a witness, and who knows what else. There was also some trouble with the FDA because their dog food was mislabeled--lamb and rice that contained zero lamb (only beef), duck food that contained no duck, etc. This all happened a few years ago, but it is still worrisome. If I was starting a new company and had parents like that I would change my last name and not admit to knowing them. That is bad for business.

It says sourced from a human grade facility in Thailand, I bought chicken and pumpkin, cats love it. $1 a can on chewy.com. It is a Weruva/Tiki kind of food.

I am still buying chicken and pumpkin samba and the cats love it. I have replaced tiki cat puka luau for a while. It smells better no tuna oil. 1.07 a can vs 1.42 a can.

I tried the chicken and pumpkin with my 2 and gah, they don't seem to like it.   I mixed it with one of their faves... one ate around it and the other did eventually go back to it but only because he knew I wasn't given him anything else.  He's the pig in the family.

I'll try again but I think my picky one isn't going to eat it but hopefully my gobble anything cat will eventually eat it with enthusiasm.  He does everything else.

I must mention how terrific Chewy.com customer service is.     I contacted them about returning an open case of the Against The Grain can food I bought.   I had opened 1 can and inquired whether they take returns on the cans I still had.   They credited my account for the entire case and asked me to donate the rest to a local shelter.      I did not expect that.    I do buy a lot from them monthly and now I feel even better about that.

Oh yeah , Chewy.Com is awesome ..  They do not take returns on food .  If you are dissatisfied with the item they refund  . I have done this a few times with food my cats refused to eat ..
