Hello. I noticed the other day my 1.5 year old tabby cat had a patch of hair loss on her right median leg. It's about 3-4 inches long and about 1-2 inches wide. She licks and bites it quite a bit and I can tell it's irritating her a little. The patch has some red bumps on the skin and it looks like some white in the red bumps also. Otherwise, she's healthy and still completely herself. I asked a vet and she said it looks like over grooming from possibly fleas but I am very intuitive with my cats and I haven't noticed any fleas whatsoever. Any advice? Thank you!

If it isn't fleas then 2 biggest causes are probably allergies or psychogenic alopecia (a mental issue).  Either way you should consult a vet.

Possibilities could be a reaction to a bite, an allergy to cat litter (my cat was getting sores from the clay cat litter), allergy to food, a poisonous plant she is chewing on, something else in the home. With my cat i put warm water on a clean cloth and dabbed his sores just to keep them clean and possibly remove any irritants. I put a little plain yogurt on them to cool them and then dabbed it off after a bit. Then I started eliminating things like his cat litter,(swapping it for something else)  and then the types of food I fed him trying to determine the cause. I would say to keep the irritated area clean as well as the area around it, and if it doesn' t start resolving soon take her to the vets again.
