Hello all,
My name is Katie Joy and I live in the Netherlands, in a small historic city called Haarlem. Recently me and my partner adopted two shelter cats from Amsterdam, 2 weeks ago.
One is 7 years old, a ginger tom, which we have named Jimmy.
The other is a Maine Coon girl which we have named Duchess. (Her age we are not too sure, her papers say she was born 2004 but her pet passport says 2009)
They both came from the same environment, although we do not know the full details, apparently it was a very large multi cat household. We believe the original owner 'collected' feral cats and perhaps bred them. Both were neglected. Duchess was a ball of matted fur and fleas, whilst Jimmy had a terrible ear infection that unfortunately has left him a little off balance. (He walks around with a head tilt, much like a dog, and it is very endearing) He also has chronic sneezing. (He has bad days and good days.)
I am currently locked up in the Kitchen with them, waiting for a delivery! Duchess is showing keen interest of the outside world and it is far too early to allow them to venture out yet. (We have a roof terrace)
Anyway,
really hoping to join in with the crazy cat community and get advice when needed.
