Born January 23, auburn hair and freckles, Irish, athletic, goofy (like me!) a good type of independent thinker, always a solid support system, great career woman. Plenty of positive childhood memories, hard to pick one! :)

My happy place.
My mother was born in London England. She had me when she was very young, there is only 18 years between us. She is a strong independent woman with a lot of love to give to both human and animal. I remember one thing she always said was "as long as you try your best that's good enough for me." This is something I have always said to my own children too.
She has always let me make my own mistakes in life and has always respected my choices even if she didn't agree. She is not only my mother, she is my very best friend.:heart3:

My Mother name is Norma, she´s mexican by born ( as I´m) :) she was raised in a catholic school, and study for profesor of primary school, her birthday is in october  and thanks of God still having her! :hugs:

One good memorie about her, when I was teenager, I had a surgery of appendicitis, it was of emergency because the symptons was very quickly and I could die, ( as well the Doctor tell us after the surgery), so she took me to ER and everything was fine.... ( the worst of this, & not proud to say this, my father was not with us that day :disa: I believe he had other not important stuff to do and was abscent...) but I remember the rushes to help me and she stand all night to wait for the finish of the surgery ( My intervention was during whole night ´cause was urgent ).

Thanks for listen me! :wavey:

My mother was born here in Nebraska and never left. She is 80 years old now and still does everything on her own, still cooks and cleans and is as sharp as ever! My favorite childhood memory is when we went 200 miles away to visit her Aunt Madie who had a chicken farm, I was a city girl but LOVED animals, so this was heaven to me to help with the farm chores. I was the only one who would remove a bull snake from the barn too, being around snakes and liking it is one thing I did NOT inherit from her though, she is a saint for putting up with all my pets!

I wasn't going to answer on this one. Generally speaking, I've learned that if your mother isn't a saint on wheels very few people are interested in hearing about it, and those that are, are usually paid to hear your issues.

But now that i'm not alone, I'll answer. My mother alternated between the "Queen" and "Hermit" depending on the day. There are many days that I slept outside so I didn't have to go home. I think the best memory I have of her was the day she was trying to make homemade pizza and the dough was too wet, so it wouldn't form shape. She started raging and threw the dough and it got stuck to the ceiling fan blade. I started laughing and she stormed out. Months later, my sister was making us supper and the dough finally dislodged off the fan and fell on her head. lol.

@SwampWitch   ,  @twinkles21   big ((hugs)) to you both.  People do wax lyrical about mothers and it's brave to come out and say that it's not always goodness and light.

My Mother died 5 years ago.  She decided to stop dialysis and so I moved into the hospital with her and we spent a week or so in her room as she slowly faded away.

I remember some wonderful journeys together when I was in my 30s.. France/Spain/Portugal, Fiji, China.

A good Mum.
