Hi,

I have a 13 year old male cat, had him since was 8. He has always been healthy with no problems. Two days ago, I noticed he used his litter box more often than normal. He doesn't seem sick or in pain, behaves normally, eats and purrs, is social as always, doesn't meow when in the box. However, I started paying more attention and his pee is a size of a golf ball, and there are maybe 5 (golf balls) a day. Before, he peed the size of the one on Vertigho's pictures (much larger). I guess it's time to take him to the vet. The only problem is - are there honest vets? I have no way of knowing what's going inside my cat. They can diagnose and charge anything. Any suggestions?

hi and welcome to TCS!

About finding an honest, good vet -- i'd suggest talking to friends and neighbors who have cats/dogs, asking them if they'd recommend their vet. that's how i found my really wonderful vet.

I can understand your apprehension. I also took suggestions from friends & family. I go to the same one my parents go to. You can google for 'board certified veterinarian in xxx" in your state. That might help narrow it down.
