I finished my kittens 7 day perscription of flagyl and he's still having mushy poop. He's already tested negative for worms and parasites and he's very active and eating normally. Should i call the vet? Or wait it out? I just want him better. He's been having this problem for 3 weeks almost

If it were me, I'd call the veterinarian and ask them if you should continue the medication a bit longer or to wait it out a bit and see what happens.

I'm sure you've discussed with your veterinarian the potential causes of loose stool beyond parasites. It may be a food issue. Not enough fibre, or food that is too rich can be the culprit. He may need a simple diet with a novel protein. He may need a probiotic supplement to help heal his gut.

Well i know prolonged flagyl isn't good and he's only 9 weeks old. He was taken away from his mother too early. I rather not continue that medicine if it's not going to be good for him. I think the probiotic is a good idea though. Ill ask about that. Currently i am feeding him science diet kitten dry food that my vet suggested

Probiotics can take a bit of time to work, so be patient with them. Ask the veterinarian about Forti-Flora, which is very palatable and quite good. Ask him how long it should take before you begin to notice a difference. If you don't notice a difference after the allotted time, perhaps changing diets could help. I had foster kittens on Purina EN from the veterinarian, for example, for the same reason.
