yes, this is the most common, after the drop you will feel the kitten move much lesser - and in another position as before.

The drop in temperature isnt entirely reliable.  Its good statistics, but not ironclad law.  We had treads with all the classical signs, and yet, no kittens.  The waiting game is a favorite pastime here in this forum.   NOT.     :)

The comfort is, as these threads tends to show, cats seems to manage a little too long waiting better than humans.

While we know the kittens manage premature delivery much worse than human babies.

Hold contact with your vet, but essentially its just being vigilant and waiting.

ps.  And dont be too nervous. So the mom dont gets scared because you get scared.   Also, some cats prefer to deliver when Mom is there, while others prefer to be alone - even if they do love their Mom.

They are purebred but I got the male off a breeder an she said she wouldn't give me papers until he was desexed the female came with non but we saw her parents an they are pure bred to [emoji]128522[/emoji]
Oh, so I presume you arent a breeder, but wanted to get one litter before spaying?

If so, the best is you do spay your boy  as soon you can get it arranged, not to risk he makes her pregnant again.  She can get into heat again as soon as  one week after delivery.  And having a fertile male in immediate vicinity, she will almost surely come into heat.   Cats arent protected by lactacing, as humans are somewhat.

And you surely want him to participate with the kittens care if he is friendly.  If not already now so a couple three of weeks later, so he will be their co-teacher.

But as said, not so few studs are helping the moms. They dont even need to be the biological fathers, its enough if they are good friends.

(how their owners are sure there will not be any adventures is the next question,, )

You do know he can get her pregnant again almost immediately after she gives birth. So I would keep them seperated until one or both are neutered. He will also impregnate all the female kittens as soon as they go into their first (sometimes silent) heat which could be as early as 4 months. Just FYI :) A lot of people don't realize that.

I know you said you plan to keep them apart but a determined male will do anything he can to get to her...

I know that but at the moment I don't want to desex my cats as I haven't got a job at the moment I'm on Centrelink an it is expensive to get it done but I will get them desexed not saying that I won't but I just need the money to do it first [emoji]128522[/emoji]

Are you in the US? Even if not there may be a low cost or free clinic near you.

The waiting game takes on the patience and nerves!

Dont take the temp more, it stresses her.   They will come when they will come.   Unless you suspect she gots fever, or something other complication.  It so, take the temp anew yes.

Good luck!.

Had you met her temp earlier, say a months ago too? So you know her normal temp?  I mean, she has perhaps normally a rather low temp, and thus the drop which we thougtht happened, was no drop, it was her normal temp??

It may also depend on were you measure.  In the behind it uses to be slightly over 38 degrees Celsius, but in the armpit of the forearm its a full grade lower (or 3grades of Fahrenheit).

In the ear its also lower, of course, but it is possible modern termometers compensate for it.

She's sure making us all wait, haha. Aside from her temperature, does she have any other signs? As she's a breed, and I assume she got sent to another Russian Blue male to get pregnant, do you know the date she has gotten pregnant around? That way we can calculate a little better how much longer it can take.
