Hi everyone,

I'm really desperate for advice/suggestions etc. about my two year old cat and his aggressive behavior. I got my cat, Beau, when he was 8 weeks old and he was sweet as can be. Beau was a rambunctious kitten but also loved to sleep on me and be affectionate. His personality started to change as he got more comfortable with me, he started attacking my feet, nothing major and I figured once he got neutered he would calm down a lot. His behavior got worse and more aggressive after he got neutered. He began to out of nowhere attack my leg and latch on while biting and digging his claws into me. This began to become a daily thing, and still is to this day. I do absolutely nothing to provoke him - I can just be sitting on the couch and he'll jump up and lunge at me and start clawing/biting me. I don't think he is playing as he really bites into me hard and once I get him off, he comes back to do it again. I have absolutely not idea why he does this. I am his primary caregiver - I feed him, change his litter, etc. I also live with my boyfriend who he absolutely adores. He never attacks my boyfriend and is constantly wanting to be around him and get his love and affection. The weird part is, occasionally Beau will sit on my lap and want to be near me as well.

I know by now a lot of people probably would have gotten rid of him because it's challenging living with an animal that will out of nowhere attack you, but I am a cat lover and always have been and I can't just try to give him away to someone, especially knowing of his aggressive behavior, and I know if I take him to a shelter he will get put down. I love him and have grown attached to him over the last two years which is why I am stuck in a situation. I can't continue to live like this where I can't even relax in my own home without him attacking me. I've always had cats and have never seen this type of behavior before. If anyone has any advice, I'd appreciate it greatly!
