My former vet bought an established practice in the Charleston area and moved there about a year ago.  She was originally from upstate New York and went to vet school and then started working in Ohio.  She left during the really harsh winter we had last year, maybe that was it for her as far as cold.  She bought a practice in Summerville and she is very good.
LOL. every time I hear something about north Charleston or Summerville I think of Angry Grandpa from youtube. I love him. He's totally insane and hilarious.

It's 28 here in the DFW area in Texas. We had a winter storm with lots of sleet that came through early Monday morning. I have been off work the past couple of days because all of the area school districts (I'm a sub) have been closed. There is only about 1/2" to 1"
of ice on on the ground (depending on where you live), but that is enough to cripple us here. There is already talk of the schools possibly being cancelled tomorrow because of snow headed our way tonight. I do like the time off work, but it is a little hard on the wallet since subs don't get paid on days off.

I must say the thundersleet was interesting! I always seem to learn a new weather vocabulary word every winter. A couple of years ago, I learned about cobblestone ice, which is lots of fun to drive on!

Do you know the name of her practice?
Small world :)

Someone sent some pictures of the ice on bushes in Summerville, she may have brought some cold with her! :)

It's 30 right now, (4:35 pm) in Wilmington,NC.  We woke up to it snowing. Not a lot of accumulation, but enough to stick. It started raining by 9:45 this morning. It's been raining all day ever sense.

It's supposed to continue w/ the freezing rain tomorrow.  The branches outside are pretty as they freeze in the rain.

Woke up to a warmer day but that's really not a good sign considering we are expecting a winter storm in a few hours.

They are calling for anywhere from 4 to 6 inches of snow North of I-20....I live South of that but not much. I'll probably see some of it because I live on the side of a mountain.

It's 37ºF and cloudy this morning here in Charleston.

I would love to send it all to you. I hate winter and the nasty weather that comes with it, LOL.

I'm sure you do miss the Jersey weather huh?

I sure do... I miss 4 seasons, beautiful trees in the fall, actually having snow in the winter time (though they're getting pummeled lately), a spring that is longer than 2 weeks, and a summer that isnt miserable!

The winter here has been drearyyyy this year. Cold, rainy, gray... so much so that I'm way past over it. At least last year we had a couple ice storms and flurries throughout Jan & Feb to keep it interesting. I'm actually anticipating spring, and I'm sure I'll regret it the first 90º day we get :lol3:

Edit: The northern half of the state is getting excitement this week though. HMPH!

Right now, we're at 20 F. It wouldn't be so bad if the wind wasn't quite so gusty. Rather cloudy. Calling for flurries and a bit of a squall this morning.

We didn't get the snow in my area last night but areas north of me got a little. We mostly got rain and sleet mix. Here is what it looks like today and tonight.
Today
Day: Mostly cloudy. Highs around 41°F. Wind chill values as low as 28°F. North northwest wind 4 to 9 MPH.

Night: Partly cloudy. Lows around 27°F. Wind chill values as low as 18°F. Northwest wind to 7 MPH.

It's 15 now, below zero at night and teens during the day today and tomorrow.  Supposed to begin warming up Saturday and then snow on Sunday.  Up until the last two weeks we really have had a mild winter here.  Even now it isn't as bad as last winter.  It will be over soon.
