Its 4 F now, supposed to stay in the single digits.  Looks like we are getting a dose of last winter but at least it's close to the end of winter instead of dragging on for several months like it did last month.

I saw an article this morning that said it looks like the grizzlies are coming out of hibernation a month early in Yellowstone because of the warm winter they have had.  They have only seen one but he was feeding on a carcass.  The article said that they will sometimes come out when there is a short warm period then go back in when it snows again.  It said that they don't normally feed unless they are out for good.

It was so cold this morning. My feral was waiting on the front porch when I went downstairs to make tea. I opened the front door to let him in for breakfast and a bit of a warm-up. He gave his obligatory I'll-come-in-but-there-are-certain-rules-that-must-be-followed-or-I'm-out-of-here hiss and a huge plume of steam came spewing out of his mouth. He looked like a grey puffball of cat dragon. He came barely inside the door and proceeded to eat 3 small tins of food plus what was to be tonight's dinner of leftover beef. Far more than he usually eats, considering that I also fed him late last night, and other neighbours feed him as well. In order for him to venture in, I have to be two rooms away. Front door wide open. House lost all of its heat in about 2 minutes.

Temperature is right down. It's about 3C. Tomorrow will be colder and stormy and snow in certain parts of the country.

18, but much much lower with windchill.

Tomorrow morning, when we leave the house, it's going to be 3, with -15 wind chills.

Winter, be gone with thee!

The past two days have been a little chilly( in the 60's) tomorrow we are going back up to the 70's. I did some gardening this week and that was nice. I love the weather but we badly need rain here in CA. Fingers crossed as there is a chance of rain on Sunday. My little sis  is really suffering in the Boston area. The cold is really hard on her. I bless my parents for moving me here to CA. from CT when I was 6. I could not have lived in that weather. I am cold until it gets warm enough to wear shorts and flip-flops.

With the wind chill factored in, we are at the same temperature as the North Pole. I really don't know why I'm still living here.

Because it's hard to find a good gas station at the North Pole? [emoji]128521[/emoji]

Something is very wrong when Moscow in the winter sounds like a tropical dream vacation...Winchester, can you "Belize" it?

The schools here are opening 2 hours late due to the extreme cold.

OK, you made me snort my coffee!

Our schools are all two hours late, too. We were at -7 this morning when Rick left for work. Til I left, about an hour later, we were up to -5. Here in town, we're at -2. The wind is gusting and it's just nasty outside.

-2 with wind chill -29 right now at 8 am. Our schools also on 2 hour delay.
I'd rather have dreaded snow than this brutal cold.

-26 feels like -34 C here this morning (-15 feels like -29 F). Calling for more snow today and tomorrow. I hope tomorrow isn't bad, we have to pick up our 2 year old, she went for a visit at grandma's house.
