I have two kittens and today I discovered that one of them has eaten the better portion of a large leaf (and a few pieces of some smaller leaves) of a succulent I have.  I got it as a gift and don't know what kind it is, but it looks like this big one:

It was whole yesterday and today it is shredded, so it was probably eaten sometime last night while I was asleep.  If it was going to hurt one of my cats, how soon would I notice symptoms?  Should I get rid of this plant?  I am freaking out!

I also have a cactus (another gift) and I've read somewhere that cacti are poisonous to cats, but I did worry because neither cat had shown any interest in plants before, but should I get rid of it?

Advice would be great!  All I can find online are lists of plant names that are harmful, and since I don't know what this plant is called, that doesn't really help... I found one person that said succulents aren't "poisonous" but can hurt the cat... sounds poisonous to me.  Please help!

Found is on line, google each one to find a photo so you can see if any of them match what kitty ate:

Poisonous if Ingested

Anthurium

Chrysanthemum

Crown of Thorns (Euphorbia sp.)

Dieffenbachia

Jerusalem Cherry (Solanum sp.)

Philodendron (Swiss Cheese Plant)

Poinsettia (another Euphorbia sp.)

Pothos

Syngonium

This list is apparently irritation inducing:

Again, google images:

Potential Skin Irritants

Agave

Anthurium

Crown of Thorns

English Ivy

Philodendron

Piggy-back Plant

Poinsettia

Syngonium

I'm not an expert in succulents, but I do own quite a few of them. I have one that looks just like a more purpley version of that big one in the middle of your pic. It's a species of echeveria. Echeveria are not poisonous to cats from what I've read. However, you can call the ASPCA poison hotline (they will charge you $65), 888-426-4435 if you want to talk to someone about it.

How is your kitty doing? Usually poisoning symptoms show up within 24 hours.

The ASPCA list of toxic and non-toxic plants is here https://www.aspca.org/pet-care/animal-poison-control/toxic-and-non-toxic-plants
