She's super excited and the open mouth is her way of showing it! My Casper does this too when he spots a bird, then the 'chattering' comes. Your pictures are too adorable! Please make sure she's not panting though, maybe it's doing a little too much! Have plenty of water on hand.

Thanks you two! She does pant sometimes...but only briefly when she's been running at full speed, up/down stairs, etc. Is this not normal?

Yes, panting for a short time is perfectly normal when they've been running full speed ahead.   Usually they'll catch their breaths pretty quickly though and stop the panting.  If she pants under other circumstances, like when she is scared, that's another story completely.

She's adorable, BTW
