OK my little one was loving all over me and I've been watching her tail because I'm afraid she is going to spray again. She was fixed a week ago. Took the cone off for a hour before bed she was loving all over me then I seen the base of her tail puff out what could that mean?:seesaw:

Not sure about the "base of the tail" but a cat's tail regularly "puffs out" when they are very excited. But normally this is during a play session or right before they take off on a full sprint, not before getting ready for bed.

Of course, I guess its possible that she was just super excited to have the cone off. Or maybe she was wanting to play now that the cone was removed.

If I stroke my cat sometimes he gets excited during the petting and his tail puffs out too, that means he is SUPER excited and I usually stop at that time because next he will be grabbing my arm with his claws. Your cat getting a puffed tail means she is really excited about loving you, but most likely on the verge of getting overstimulated and being too rough. This is the time to back off and let her calm down.

My dad seen her puff the base of her tail today he thought it was the cutest thing. I have to agree it's because she gets excited. My cat's get so excited when my dad gets home from work. Well with peanut being locked in my room she gets 10 times excited when. He comes to visit her in my room. Thank you all for the help. I love this site
