Cat Pee! At Wit's End!!!!!

Hi Everyone,

I posted my original thread in June about my cat, Bellatrix, peeing. It's old and the situation has changed, so I figured I'd make a new one.

She was peeing all over our new rugs and we had to get them replaced. I have since put her on Prozac and we purchased a Feliway diffuser to be placed in that room. The only times since then that she has had issues was when we thought she was ok and decided to start to wean her off of the Prozac, she started up again. Also, when the diffuser was moved higher once, she peed on the rug in the bedroom again. Everything was put back to normal and no issues since. 

Today my boyfriend texted me and sent me pics of her pee on the kitchen floor, where it has never been, and on his brand new $400 desk  

I'M AT MY WITS END. I WILL NOT GET RID OF HER. But he keeps saying "I don't know what else to do at this point" and I understand that frustration, because I'm experiencing it, too.

I'm waiting on a call back from the doctor because for all intents and purposes a new examination is in order (I took her when this all first started, they did a urinalysis, and nothing came back)

I'm just so upset and frustrated. Gonna bust out the nature's miracle....

Here are some possible contributing factors that I want some opinion on:

Cat upstairs. We live in the basement apartment of my father and stepmother's house. They have a cat and dog upstairs. They do NOT interact. There is a door separating our levels. There has been a gate installed at the top section of our stairs so that the dog doesn't come sniffing at our door BECAUSE of this issue, and quite frankly, because the dog is very ill behaved. The cat can be heard meowing when no one is home up there.

Her litter. I haven't changed it to fresh in a while. I feel awful. All the bacteria teeming in there could be defering her from wanting to go in there at all. So there's that. 

I gave her new ceramic bowls to drink water and eat dry food out of. Her wet food dish is also ceramic (given 1-2x a day). But could she really be that upset over the change? She dips her paws in the water to drink it. She does get enough fluid, because I put some water in her wet food as well.....

I'm so tired....

I had a similar problem until I added a new litterbox specifically in the area where my cat was peeing. Since I added that litterbox she'll avoid peeing elsewhere and go only in that new litterbox.

I also switched litter to the 'Worlds best Cat litter' brand because it specifically states that it's corn-based and flushable. I can't say it smells all that great but it's super easy to clean the litterbox now that I can just slide it into the bathroom, scoop into toilet, then slide back.

Yes, I use World's Best since the first debacle and it's a great litter

I was JUST considering a second box. That might be the key right now.

She likes to kick litter out of the pan, so I may need some sort of tray to contain it underneath.....and the placement will end up being in the kitchen or the livingroom. 

Have you considered something like the booda dome? My cat's a kicker too and this at least helps direct most of the litter out in one direction where I can clean up easier.
