Hello all. So, I have a kitten, Turbo, approx. 3 months old, and my friend says he has food aggression. He doesn't do it with the usual cat food I feed him, but on the occasional time I give him a 'Scrap-of-meat-treat' (Or when my older cat steals it off the bench for him!!), he will get very violent, he starts to growl, hiss, claw, anything to keep it. I can't even walk past without him getting all grouchy. Since he is quite young, will he grow out of it? Or will he stop when he gets his peanuts snipped off? (I am going to get him neutered, I don't want him strolling around making kittens) Is there anything I could do for the time being, or just let him be? Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

He may outgrow it once he feels that his food supply/treat supply is safe.  It may take him growing larger in size to the other cat isn't so big compared to him.  I would keep his meat treats to a minimum, or bite size pieces for now.

Ok, thanks guys :) I think he is just a pig, he eats his food then goes to eat Zombie's food too. I've wormed him and de-flead him, I think he is just greedy. I only feed them twice a day (once in the morning, once at night) is this enough or is it too much?

You can feed him the same amount overall, but split up into 4 meals throughout the day.

I don't know if you get them wherever you live (I live in New Zealand) But we have silver 'cat pouches', and I give him half in the morning with a tiny amount of dry food (same goes for other cat) and the other half at night or just some biscuits. I feed them at about 7am and 6pm.

a 3 month old kitten has to eat more often than that.    You need to feed kittens all they will eat at least, till they are around 1 yrs old.   They have smaller stomachs so eat smaller meals through out the day.

At his age; it's a much as he wants!  His body is growing rapidly and he has all that kitten energy; so he needs more meals than adult cats.
