I have a cat that is about 1 and a half. Her name is Peanut. Peanut started marking when we moved to a new house. Every time she went into heat she would mark the windows first and everywhere else after. Never found any new marks when she wasn't in heat. I recently had her spayed. It's been a week since she has been fixed. She is still wearing the e collar and locked in my bedroom. I've cleaned the whole house I've used urine gone and the comfort zone defuser and the spray along with the calming collar. I'm just so nervous that she will start marking again once she is free to run around . Yes there is out door cats peeing around the out side of my new house. I've done the site blocker. If any one has any advice for me I would really appreciate it.

Ps also I didn't get peanut spayed sooner because there was a high medical risk. She had stomach problems when I adopted her. After many vet visit and tons of money Peanut only had a sensitive stomach that she out grew. You live you learn!

It sounds like a pretty convincing history for heat-related spraying, so in theory it should be resolved now. That said, the impulse to mark does not entirely go away with the sex hormones and some neutered/spayed cats do still spray. The reason that I am optimistic in your case is that it sounds like she was only spraying when she was actively in heat and not at her baseline between cycles.
In terms of preventing more marking, the comfort zone diffuser and calming collar are good places to start. If she has a particular spot she likes, try spraying it directly with a pheromone spray like Comfort Zone to reduce her urge to mark it, or spray it with something like Nature's Miracle No Spray, which works on the basis of being a deterrent.
