My cat hates me

For a couple months now my two cats no longer come into my room and it's weird because they used to all the time. My one cat is totally chill if i bring him in to lie on my bed while i do homework or lie down but as soon as i turn off my light he bolts out of there to my sister's room who also has her light off. Please help i think my cat hates me and I dont know why.

Cats are finicky by nature. If he's willing to hang out with you during the day, I doubt he hates you. He probably just decided your sister's room is better for sleeping--maybe you move around a lot in your sleep or he likes her blankets better. Other cats prefer their own sleeping space--one of my parents' cats prefers to sleep on a shelf in the closet but gets on the bed with them once everybody's awake in the morning. Focus on the time they spend with you when you're awake and try not to worry about sleeping arrangements.

Considering he is willing to be picked up and you to bring him to the room during the day I doubt he hates you that being said has anything in your room changed? New furniture? carpets? curtains? new air freshener?

It could be he's simply going through a stage there are days our cat lilly loves our room and other days where she hates it!
