Hello to all! Wishing everyone a nifty Tuesday!

How old is the home you are currently living in?

My house is approx. 150 years old! Built around the 1860's.

I have no idea! I live in an apartment right now, and it's older than the '90s (from what I can tell - I don't know anything about construction or architecture through the times), but I honestly have no clue and Google isn't helping me.

The house my parents live in (and I still call home, of course) was built in 1996. We had it built, so we're the first owners.

We live in my husbands grandparents home, they were going to burn it and my husband couldn't let it go. It was built in the early 50's. When we got it 10 years ago we have completely redone it. New porches, roof electrical, plumbing, sewer, windows, EVERYTHING. It would have been easier to build a new one. But it is a work of art now, and sits on an acre in town.

Our house was built in 1984 and we moved in January 1985. It's now about 31 years old.

The house we are renting is from the 1940's. it's right next to a park that used to be a gunpowder mill in the late 1800's. alot if history in this part of town.

I live in a building that's 8 years old.

It was built around 1910. It's always falling apart somewhere.
 Lol
I grew up in a house that was built in the 1920s and my parents still live there. Everything but the appliances are the original and are falling apart. Dad won't fix anything, though

1954. 61 years old. We bought it 11 yrs ago and remodeled it. I was amazed that the attic was insulated with old newspapers. I found an elderly couple that I knew courting in the social section. "Mr. Bob Smith went to visit with Miss Jane Doe and family for dinner." It was really amusing at the stuff that was in the paper. I saved it and gave it to her. Her and her husband are both passed now.

This house was built in 1980 so it's really old for a Japanese house. No one believes me when I tell them my parents house is over 100 years old. Not that old at all for the UK but in Japan buildings are only expected to last for 40 ~ 50 years.

I have no idea here. I'm in an older house that was made into an upstairs & downstairs apartments. I'm upstairs.  I had a utility guy here once years ago, (I have been here for 15 yrs),  & he said his brother lived here about 25 yrs ago!  I know my landlord, who is in his 60's or early 70's, inherited most of his properties from his dad, but I'm sure he did this one himself. My brother-in -laws mom said she remembered when he was puttimg this old house back together!  I'd love to find out. I often wonder what it looked like if it were ever a single family home.

Oh that is cute!!

My aunt lives in an old Sears & Roebuck catalog house. They found the sales catalog papers in the wall when they were doing some work on it.

Our house was originally built in 1954 and was pretty small.  It was added on to to make it quite a bit bigger in the 70s.  We bought it in 1996 and are still working on it....

Records say the house was built in 1925, but in other places I saw 1915.  So there's a discrepancy.  We liked the idea of it now being 100 years old but most likely, it's just 90.

It's Craftsman style, a foursquare but has some Victorian elements.  Even though I work in architecture, I find it difficult to totally pinpoint and I think a lot of it was changed from when first constructed as there are thing which make no sense to me.

We've been living there since 2010, although didn't move right in due to rehab that had to take place to make it livable.  As it was, we moved in before the water was completely working in the kitchen.  Just couldn't afford living in the hotel any longer.

It's still a work in progress.  The guy who lived there prior to us was there for 30 years and let it fall apart.  Me, being stupid, fell in love with it and *thought* I had a good idea how much it would cost to fix up since I'm in the business.  NOT EVEN CLOSE.

Well, here I am $200,000 in the hole more than expected and I bet there's another $100K I could easily put in and it still wouldn't be a grand home.  So much mechanical work had to be done, leaks, painting, landscaping, adding a/c.  Oh and a brand new kitchen.

Ugh. I highly do NOT recommend although, we love the house.
