My cat is pretty relaxed but I am not sure how to relax him enough to cut his claws. Also, I am not sure how much I can cut? It looks as if one part is alive and the other part is just nail? I don't want it to start bleeding?

So, any advice re: how to relax my cat enough?

And, how will I know how much to cut?

Thanks.

Thank you! I read the article. It was very helpful!

I may take my guy to the vet also! He was there a month or so ago though...not sure how often I should trim?

Thanks!

How often depends how quickly the claws grow - I take my Loki every 3 months or so since Loki is the worst wiggl butt ever and I am always afraid I will hurt him.

In reality his tips should be taken off every 4-6 weeks.

I cut Zoey and Saki's claws every couple of weeks.. while they are sleeing or resting. Sometimes I can only get one paw.. then I'll come back later for the other one
I just cut the very tips off so I dont cut into the pinks.
