When I used to feed the cats only canned food, grain-free, feeding both cats would cost me roughly $10 a day = $70 a week.  Now that I use Primal FD (and my male eats some Primal frozen raw), that $26 bag lasts me one week, now only one can per day, I'm saving money.

I'd love to try the Primal frozen rabbit but don't think any of the stores around me sell it.      The only frozen raw I did try was the Natures Variety but it was a no go with my Lokhi.

I tried NV Frozen Raw with mine last year , I got a free sample from the pet store , they would not touch it ..

Oh , I believe Primal website has a store locator ..

I also find that Primal is cost-effective in comparison to canned foods... the cats eat up all the Primal and it seems to fill them up better. In fairness to canned food, I think I've now figured out that they much prefer shreds to pates. (That took me a while!

Our cats don't like NV, either! I don't blame them: I think it smells funny! In fairness to them, I don't know if the new formula might not be so odd...

I bought some Primal Pronto today because the store was out of freeze-dried Primal chicken... we'll see how they like the little frozen food pieces!

Ooops! Typo! Primal FD is  not $39.99 here, it is $29.99. Sorry, I was typing without much light late last night. S&C's is $24.99 . I can't find S&C's here now. I had heard a while ago that there was some problem getting it in the store but, I could find it. Not now. I do wish I could get their frozen raw for cats. The store owner told me that it isn't offered in N. CA. She said while people are up on raw for dogs, raw for cats is taking longer to catch on.

I make a ton of raw every month but do like having backups like FD raw.

@Maureen Bradley: I think you and I must have learned to type in the same place!

Stores here tell me, too, that raw for cats just isn't catching on... but they'll still order just about anything for me. Sometimes it seems like dry food is just so engrained (oops, sorry for the pun!) that people don't think cats need raw food.

I feed Psycho both Primal & S&C. He likes the Primal Turkey rehydrated and the S & C Duck crumbled on his origins. He also gets canned food every day with added water. I have noticed he is so much more playful when he eats the Freeze Dried food. I think it puts a zip in his step !

Anybody have experience with the Primal freeze dried pork? My cats love it, but I have to admit I have misgivings about raw pork. My one kitty has food allergies for chicken and other poultry... It's hard finding non-chicken and non-fish cat food

We feed it, @badmunkee. Are your misgivings because of trichinosis? I wrote to Primal to ask about that before I started feeding it to our cats and they wrote back with information about freezing meat, which would kill trichinosis. In doing my own reading, I also found out that trichinosis is fairly uncommon these days in the US; I hadn't realized that!

At any rate, I feel comfortable feeding the pork food.

My cats love the primal turkey. It took a while for them to except it though. Some days they want it some days they don't. It's cost effective especially with seven cats.they also eat weruva paw lickin chicken, and earthborn chicken. Feeding primal has helped cut my canned food expenses.thank god;)

Ours love the Primal turkey, too. We make blends of Primal chicken, turkey, and pork for them twice a day; Primal's been very cost-effective for us, too. One of our cats prefers it with a dusting of Stella & Chewy's on top: one nugget crumbled. A dusting of Primal crumbs also helps. I'd recommend trying either method (or even Pure Bites or a similar treat) if your cats don't want to eat the Primal, @parisinthe30sx!

We also feed a little Rad Cat every day, plus a couple canned meals. They do very nicely on that combination!

I've tried rad cat, my cats were not impressed. It was a shame because I definitely was. I have one cat that wants dry only, but the rest love the primal most of the time. One of these days I'll outsmart my dry food addict but it hasn't happened yet.maybe pure bites will help.thanks for the tip!

Well, it sounds like you have a good start! Maybe the dry addict would eat some crumbs of Primal? Or maybe you've already tried that! (I know that dry food cats can be difficult to bargain with!)

I hope the Pure Bites help. I swear our cats would eat anything with Pure Bites on it!

Yes I have tried the primal and stellas crumbled on top. Wouldn't touch it. She does like orijin lamb cat treats a ton, but she won't eat them if they're on top of wet food. I don't get it! She was an outside cat for 5 months when my neighbor just decided they didn't want her anymore :( I figured after eating mice and the like, a raw diet would be easy for her, but, nope! I can't believe an adorable 6 lb furball it's smarter than me.She definitely has me beat.

And there's the thing: they're *all* smarter than us, particularly when it comes to eating!
(I'm sorry the crumbled food on top doesn't work. But who knows? Maybe she'll change her mind in a month or two. We've definitely seen that more than once!)

My kitten loves Primal!!! But it's too expensive. I buy the 14oz bag and it's $29.99 now. I have to always supplement with other less quality food for it to last. But I think Fromms kibble food is a good alternative, even though most are now saying dry kibble food is detrimental to your cat's health, regardless of the quality. Can food has an odor as well as most kibbles. Primal has a pleasant scent to me.
