I wanted to offer a cleaning safety tip. Do not use dish sponges made with antibacterial soap in them. They can be dangerous when washing pet dishes. I don't even use anything but 7th Generation any more.

As someone who used to clean houses, I will say that for a long time I used sponges.  After a few years, I learned how to use cloths properly, and have done so ever since.  Sponges harbor tons of bacteria.  With proper technique, a cloth will stay cleaner than a sponge.

Also, I use a simple 10% bleach solution with a splooge of laundry soap as a cleaner.  Let me stress the laundry soap... not dish soap.  Dish soaps often have ammonites in them which do not mix well with bleach.  Laundry soap is specifically formulated to work with bleach.

Many folks like to use vinegar, which is a perfectly viable alternative as well.
