My 9 year old cat has begun to throw up bile every morning for the past 4 days. He still eats and drinks the same amount that he usually does & is still active. Could this be a serious problem?

Yes, I would bring the cat to the vet right away.

throwing up is never good if it is every day

I'm far from an expert but when my last cat was throwing up bile he had constipations problems.      Is your cat pooping okay?

Sounds like he needs to be checked out.   Regurgitating their food happens but throwing up bile sounds like an issue.

Good luck

He's using the bathroom normally as well. He actually threw up food not too long ago too.. I'm going to try to get money to take him to the vet. Thank you guys for the feedback.

no clue what it could be but this extreme throwing up every few days and becoming lethargic is what led us to take our 15 year old siamese into the vet a few months ago.

they basically found mast cell tumor and took out spleen and something near liver, saw slight hardning in digestive track but no tumors and started treatment like he had ibd and started treating with pred a week after surgery and the cat started to gain weight back. went from 6.5 pounds pre surgery to 9.5 as of now. he has only had a couple bouts of diahrea, has not crashed, and barfed a partial bit of food once and one time a hairball.

they couldn't link the digestive stuff to the mast cell and luckily things are going well for us so we continue the treatment and watch his appetite and weight.

the vomits were projectile for us and he would have a few bad bouts every few days before surgery.

I'm glad your cat is okay now, damac. I took my cat to the vet, and they ran some blood tests and did a physical exam. They said everything was normal and it could just be his diet so I'm switching his food and watching his behavior.
