Pyrantel dosage question

What is the correct dosage of pyrantel per pound body weight? For adult cats, not kittens?

After searching the internet, I have found the dosage varies from 5mg/kg to 20mg/kg.  In other words the dosage varies from 2.28 mg per lb to 9.1 mg per pound.

Most scientific studies  on google scholar have used 20mg/kg.

It's actually 0.1 ml per lb, so a 10 lb cat will get 1.0 mls.

I tend to give extra since it is so gentle and mild, but that is the actual dosage.

Repeat in 14 days also.

I found it!  According to the Mereck veterinary manual:

pyrantel pamoate (5 mg/kg, PO, two doses 2–3 wk apart; 15 mg/kg, PO, two doses 2–3 wk apart; 20 mg/kg, PO, once)

Looks like there is a great deal of variation in dosage!
