Uggh! I was, and still am feeding a rotation of canned food to prevent her from becoming picky, but now she's picky!

It's been a few weeks now, ever since I introduced Weruva pouches! It's like she's "had the good stuff" and doesn't want anything else! She'll eventually eat what's in front of her, especially if I sprinkle of few kibble bits on top, but before this, she used to gobble up anything!! I wait at least 10 minutes before I put some kibble on top, to see if she'll go for it, but these days the only ones she'll gobble up is the Weruva "Cats in the kitchen" pouches, and Simply Norish chicken stews. These can be expensive so I don't want to only feed these. I've also heard that the pouches are also a little higher in carbs.

Has anyone else experienced this?! Just a tad frustrating

The danger of rotation between different brands, rather than just flavors within brands, is that they WILL discover "the good stuff" and always look for it.  I have a 2-year-old who thinks Purina Kitten Chow is "the good stuff" (left over from his childhood in Alabama I guess) and when someone left a bag as a donation, I put it on top of the fridge and he smelled it, climbed on the counter and then the fridge, an ripped a big hole in it.  I keep the remainder in the fridge and give him a little snack of it once a day.  It's good to keep something on hand that I know he will eat even if he's sick and off his food.  I've used it on a couple of others who were ill and they ate it when the only other thing they would eat was treats.

Is the cat in the picture part Siamese? His body looks identical to one of my cats.

Great photo haha!

I definitely have brands ready for when she really sticks her nose up at a certain kind :)

Thanks.  It's a good thing he is because he has been a real PITA for a good part of the time I've had him.  He's better now, but I used to consider him unadoptable.  That's why the Alabama folks rejected him and sent him to me.  He has "issues" like flea allergies and a high strung nervous disposition, and he acts like prey so the other cats attack him (he's over that now that he's about 2 years old, and I placed the two girls who were the meanest to him).  But because he was picked on and nervous, he always pooped outside the litter box.  Next to it, fortunatately, but not IN it.  He still does that once in awhile but no longer daily.  I think if he had less cats around, or less dominant ones (I have too many females, leftover moms from being in rescue), he would use the litter.  He will use Dr. Elsey's cat attract litter, but I can't use that with this many cats, it would turn to cement at the end of each day because they would ALL use that one box.  (I hav e 9 boxes.)

I find that even the least favorites in the rotation get eaten in 10 minutes. I do timed feedings of wet only so they are pretty hungry when fed.

Is it flavors that include fish? Most Weruva products do, if I recall correctly. Try buying bonito flakes or freeze dried cod to crumble on the other foods. Just a little to enhance the smell. Cats are easily addicted to the strong fishy flavors.

Yes, my cat does this too even though I feed a rotation.  I guess it's normal for cats (and people) to have certain flavors/ textures that they prefer.  When I put the "regular" stuff down, my cat will wait a bit to see if I'll put anything better down.  It's especially annoying if she has been begging very vocally and then just turns up her nose.  She does usually eventually eat it though.  I would just leave it until they eat it (within a reasonable amount of time).  My cat might get stubborn but definitely won't starve herself.

It's also helpful to have another cat who will eat anything so he can take care of leftovers.  Haha.

She can't have any seafood as it doesn't agree with her stomach and it just becomes runny poop :(

I've resorted to putting crushed treats on top (just a small pinch) to get her to start eating it hahaha!
