My Tommy always does the oddball thing. Just to keep me guessing.
Today, I made a nice beef stew. After the meat had simmered 2 hours and was tender, I added the vegetables. Last in (on top) went the red Swiss chard, snipped into small pieces. Tommy hopped up on the counter (no, this is NOT permitted, so that right there was getting my attention!) took a piece of chard and ate it. Then took another piece.
Silly goof, it isn't catnip! I shussed him down and away, he had one large piece still hanging from his mouth. I suspect he enjoyed that piece as well.
(No, he wasn't starving, there was fresh kibble in a bowl and canned had been served for breakfast, just a few hours prior to this.)
