I am so not in a good mood today. I am sure some of you remember the problems I had with the volleyball captain. I had a massive argument with the captain of my volleyball team as I did not know that there was a tournament last night, he did not tell us, and he blamed it all on me.
So he came online and we had it out. He asked me if I had told people that he was mean and I told him straight out yes, he was and that it is the truth and that he is not nice to women, and he got mad at me. I ended up saying not very nice things to him, which is not like me but this guy really riles me.
Then his girlfriend called me up and asked me why I felt like that, and I said that he has a total disrespect for women and that I was surprised she was supporting him after all the stuff he had been putting her through (he uses her for a punching bag)

Its official. I quit the volleyball team. They asked me why didn't I talk to them, and I said I had tried but it did not work.

Anyways, back to Tuesday, going to exercise, hubby is still helping our friend with the roof, should be finished by today.
That guys "ladyfriend" called me last night and we played a silly game of who am I talking to. they are both in their 70's and look great.
Its so cold here, and windy. I am definitely staying inside. My landlord is coming to visit to borrow a book and to tell me about her holiday in Cozumel.

Have a great day you all - if anyone knows any silly jokes, tell me!

Q- Why couldn't the butterfly go to the dance?

A- Because it was a moth ball.

Movin' on up!
Been a while, since I started one of these.

My jury duty was rescheduled, until tomorrow. Looks as though I'll have to go to work, after all. Hopefully, today won't be as busy. I cannot believe how many people assume that, just because its December, we'll let them slide on their car payments! Some of them have flat-out admitted that they expected us to give them an extension and have spent their car payment money.

I got an e-mail, from the kids. They will come up here, Christmas Day. Sam says that Fizzy is crawling already. Izzy has figured out that someone will always pick her up and take her where she wants to go. With one crawling, its a good thing that we're shampooing the carpet, this weekend!

I got a treat, last night. Buddy stretched out, against my back, kneading with all four paws and with his purr on high idle. I got a heat pack, massage and vibration, in an attractive fur package! Opie got his nose out of joint and slept on the couch. Opie just has to learn that he doesn't have an exclusive on snuggling.

Guess that I'd better go put some clothes on - I don't think that my pussycat-print pajamas meet the dress code.

Have a good one.

Wow... two daily threads again! But I see this one was started 2 minutes earlier! You guys were probably typing at the same time!

At least you're out of that situation. I hope you can find another team to join. I know you'll miss it if you don't.

I didn't get to put up the rest of the lights outdoor yesterday because I was fussing all day with my hair. Thank god it is fixed! Maybe today I can finish the lights.

Had a job interview yesterday but even if I'm offered this job I can't take it. It's only $8.50 per hour and is a 40% pay cut. Plus you work 7 - 10 hour days then have 7 days off and you can't take any other time off. You get no vacation or personal time because you only work 70 hours per pay period. They use what would be your vacation/personal time to make up those 10 hours per pay period and pay you for 80 hours. Something about that bothers me.

Tammie - we are thinking of forming a softball team next summer, we have some people interested and the same people want to form a new volleyball team without "HIM" knowing. Its going to be tricky because his girlfriend works for the city and works next to the guy who organises the sports.
But I guess we will figure it out.
I told him to do something that a man would love to do but physically impossible for him to do unless he is a contortionist.
I can't believe I said something like that because it is not normal for me to talk that way, but he really rubs me the wrong way.

About that job, can you take it until something better comes along? Just to get money?

No I can't take it temporarily. It's less then my unemployment, which just started and it wouldn't make sense. And it would make it harder for me to look. Especially since I have a lot of medical issues.

I am so sorry to hear about the job offer not working out.
And Kellye I am sorry you had to quit your team, that guy sounds like a real jerk.

Today is dad's birthday, if he were still alive he would be 86. I am taking it easy today and Amber is playing with the cats.

So I get off work at like 9am (work overnights) to go to school. Luckily this is my first day using my dad's handicapped pass (so I don't have to pay the ridiculous prices for parking stickers), so that was good, no more parking accross the street where I used to live then riding the commuter bus over. I stop on the way to buy a razor knife for $1.xx to scrape off my old sticker so there is no confusion.

Well I get to French class only to find out that the teacher decided last class (before thanksgiving) that she was going to give the first half of the exam today. :censor::censor::censor:?! What the hell are exam days for? I specifically told her that this was STUPID and asked her what was the purpose of the exam schedule? She blamed it on me missing class and said that she sent out an email. Well I don't think such a passive form of communication is assez for this type of announcement on such a short notice. A voicemail message or something along those lines would be different. I checked my mail over thanksgiving, but this was sent on Sunday, and God forbid that some of us are busy and don't check our freakin email!

I also got to hand in this stupid 5-or-so part assignment to some ethics teacher. I emailed it to her. Hopefully the woman doesn't have a problem unzipping it etc. She didn't give us any guidelines as far as format etc, so if she doesn't like it she can bite me! This all came about from some ASS in financial aid not doing his job, yet telling me that he did, and me eventually getting screwed out of FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS! I then basically told him to screw off and that landed me in this mess! I'm glad it's over with now though... as long as nothing else stupid happens.

But on a good note, as I was typing this the UPS guy came and delivered both an amplifier that I ordered and an adapter for my projector that I FINALLY got back yesterday!!

I don't know if things work differently there.. but you don't have to take the job if it pays less than what you were getting in your previous job. There's nothing wrong with collecting a little unemployment until you find that perfect job. How long can you stay on unemployment there before you have to renew it? Is there something in particular you are looking for.. Jobs are soooo hard to come by when you NEED one. I know my brother was on EI for about a year before he found anything.. but we live on iddy biddy PEI..

Hey all - long time no chat! I am only able to hope in for a few minutes. I am in the middle of helping hire people here for work. We are interviewing 60 people over the next 5 days. Today and yesterday were orientations. I am enjoying the new supervisor position. I am supervising a new unit that is starting up. It is great being in from the ground up.

My MIL is back in the hospital again. We don't now how long she will be in this time. They are trying something new with her. The have put a shunt in her arm, up to her neck and into her lung to get the meds right there. She has meds input thru the shunt 3 hours a day right now.

How are everyone's Christmas palns going?

Good luck with the job hunt!

Kellye - sometimes you have to tell people off

Sam - hope the kitties arrive safe and sound!

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
Ady, sorry to hear about your MIL - glad to hear they're keeping you busy at work! Got to earn that promo, right?

Today has been a bear of a day - and that follows a bear of a week. I missed Thanksgiving here because Gary's mom went nuts and we had to scramble to get the cats taken care of and get our butts to Chicago. We forgot the cellphone, the laptops, etc. It was weird being "unplugged" for so long. Like I've said to others - it would be really nice on a real vacation!

Anyway, we made it back over the weekend. But this is a really busy season for us, so other than in the feral/stray forum I doubt I'll be around much.

And NOW - our heater has been on the fritz and has been kaput for days. Our pipes froze last night, because without the propane heating, which is ducted, the underneath compartments get no heat of any kind. Electric heaters keep us warm inside - but don't prevent the pipes from freezing. And the power went out about an hour ago. Thank GOD we have a generator, though we can't leave it running constantly for fear something might happen to it.

AND Funny Face turned up having been in a fight and fled before we could get him into a trap. Flowerbelle has a URI again. Vet says this is going to keep happening because of the herpes virus she's got. So the poor thing now receives meds 9 times a day. She is such a trooper - though we should have named her Fireball!!!! If the meds are oral, we can slip them into Whiskas cat milk. Otherwise we try to get her when she's sleeping - because she is small, wirey, fast, squirmy and does NOT like getting drops in her eye!!!

Hope everybody else is having a MUCH better day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And Kellye - I'm sorry how things worked out with the team. But that guy sounded like a real jerk! I really hope you can form a new one without him. It seems you really enjoy it. And I'm glad you told him off!!!!

Sam - hope things are going well!

Tamme - you're in my thoughts! I hope things work out for you. No - let me rephrase that. I'm sure things WILL work out for you!

Hi Cindy!

Same here... you don't have to take a job if it is significatnly lower paying. I haven't even gotten my first unemployment check yet so I've got quite a ways to go. I had a nice big severance package so I didn't qualify for unemployment yet.

I'm not looking for the perfect job... but I can't work for $8.50/hr. I am my only income and that is too big of a pay cut. I'm willing to take some paycut but not 40%!

My profession is in biotech as a lab technician... lovingly known as a bench monkey!

Good evening everyone! It is a little after 8 now and dinner is still cooking. We are having Vaca Frita tonight (type of Cuban food)...YUM! I just finished reading my last chapter in my Psychology book! I am going to take my last tomorrow night, so wish me luck! I came home from work to find about 7 ornaments on the floor and a long piece of garland off the tree. Looks like baby Mittens had fun while I was at work. No harm done though.

Sam--Give those furrbabies and Holly lots of love. Let us know soon about them!!

Hope everyone has a great rest of the day!!

i went to my first office meeting with the real estate company today. i wasn't going to start til january, but since i decided to take a hike at my old place my friend who has been trying to get me into real estate asked me to go ahead and start helping her. the down side is that i have to go ahead and pay dues for the remainder of the year which tends to be a down time, but hopefully a few leads she has picked up will come through and i will be able to sufficiently help her to earn some commission.

i am on a roller coaster these days between elation at not being at my old job and terror of finding income. as they say "this, too, shall pass."

have a good evening everyone!
