Happy Happy Birthday! Hope your day is more fun than you anticipated!

It's funny how we all look at things so differently. My birthday is mid-December, and all my life I've wished for snow on my birthday! Snow is magic from the sky! My family knows my wish, probably as much as your family knows your feelings about snow birthdays.

I knew it wasn't very likely, growing up in south / central Texas, where snow is a once, maybe twice in a lifetime event. But you'd think I might have had one when I lived in Massachusetts where it snows all winter. I'm still hoping, although it's a long shot, that I will get one here where it snows a couple of times a year.

A few years ago when I woke up on the morning of my birthday, I saw my daughter had cut out dozens of snowflakes and put them in all the windows in the living room and kitchen. She put cotton balls along all the window sills, too. It was fantastic, I was so happy! It's very likely that will remain my only snow birthday.

Anyway, hope you enjoy yours, and that you have many, many more. One day you will look back on 60 and think, "I was so young then!"

Thanks, guys! I made some pizza and we're getting ready to watch a movie soon....Rick is picking something out. Me, I don't really care what we watch.

Welcome, artiemom!
And a big Hi to Artie, too. (Oh, my name is Pam. Nice to "meet" you!)

Cory, Cory, Cory......

SwampWitch, you have a wonderful daughter!

BTW, it is to start snowing AGAIN early Monday morning and go into Tuesday. Another 6 inches in the forecast for us til it's over. It's a coastal storm, so you New Englanders....get ready!

Happy Birthday Pam! You're welcome to have my birthday. It's late summer and not a big deal anymore. The 6-0 is getting closer, but it would allow you to shave a few years off. Just beware of getting lots of back-to-school clothes as presents. Very little snow here. Not even an inch so far. Too far inland for this particular one I guess.

We might have to send you to Belize in July so we don't run the risk of having you snowed in when it's time to make the airport run. lol.

Hello and welcome to the site from about an hour south of you, also known as the "jackpot" area of Tuesday's blizzard! :lol3: :wavey:

It's nice to have you come out of the lurking shadows. :)

Already checked out flashlights, batteries, battery operated radio, lantern, blankets, filled car gas tank....washing clothes now...

I am so gratefull I do not have to work or deal with this-----

I live just north of Boston, along the coast..Beach can be seen from my windows.......

I live in an apartment building---so I will watch the snow blow and the trees sway.....

Happy belated birthday Pam!

I swear I had every intention of wishing you a HBD yesterday.
To make it up to you I'll accompany you to Belize.

We are supposed to get something from this storm too; but starting as rain and then turning to snow.
Ok I'm being slightly dramatic; I'm just grateful I don't live in Karen's Jackpot zone!  I've heard so many predictions for how much snow we will get; but most say less than a foot.  Our wood stove is supposed to be installed in 1 week.
I am grateful I don't have to go anywhere; but DH has to work.  I just need things clear for me to take DD to her pediatrician on Thursday before another littler storm comes through that night or Friday.  They can't seem to make their minds up on any of these storms lately!

Thanks, Mooch!

I know! I've been thinking about the Jackpot Zone and I'm so grateful we don't live there.

We got six inches of snow on Saturday (a couple inches have melted) and we have another six inches this morning so far. Our local weather weenies said we were to get six inches all day today; I don't know what hat they pulled that amount out of. With another 4-6 coming tonight into Tuesday. And that's if the storm doesn't track too far to the west; it it comes further west, all bets are off. Still, we're not getting the 2-3 feet that Karen is looking at.

Rick brought me into work this morning and the roads were not good at all. He just texted me to tell me that he got to work OK and he said the road into his work is terrible. The snow plow guy is outside, plowing my work's parking lot now.

Good luck with your stove, Mooch. And I'd really love to see pictures when it's installed!

Oh, BTW, I never get a birthday cake for my birthday; the only time I ever get a birthday cake is if I make it. But Rick did get me a Birthday Donut from Dunkin Donuts on Sunday when we grabbed a few groceries. Just one sour cream glazed.

Awww....that is such a lovely thing to do! How sweet. :touch:

Pam, sorry I'm late to this thread, but I'm glad you had a happy birthday and I'm sure the pizza and donut were delicious. I hope you get to catch up with everyone soon. Winter sure does make everything harder to do!
