Hi everyone :wavey:

The boiler broke at my workplace today, so no heating :(
I've just got home and I am FREEZING !!! :cold:
I can't feel my toes :shame:

So today's question is............

Would you rather be too hot or too cold ?

As you can probably tell I hate being cold :lol3: So I would definitely choose too hot :D

I'd rather be cold - I usually feel cold anyway so I'm used to it. Extreme heat is bad for me - I can't tolerate it any more - I get sick from being overheated and that's the worst.

I'm better with cold also.  Although I have to tell you once you live without heat for a week or more (after Hurricane Sandy) you do rethink that.

Heat, makes me seriously cranky.  I lived in Fort Lauderdale for a few years, and summers were spent going from the air conditioned house, to the air conditioned car, to the air conditioned office and back again.  I did nothing for all those months outdoors if I could avoid it.

LOTS better with cold, I can always add more clothes. Heat takes away my ambition to do anything. Since I started having hot flashes I really enjoy the winters now!

I would much rather be too hot. I feel the cold so much that it turns my hands purple and numb! I love escaping from the UK to a nice hot place x

I also tolerate the cold better than the heat.  I wonder if it has anything to do with the dominant weather where we have lived longest?

Ever since I was a kid; too much heat would make me sick.  I remember my mother having to give me cool baths in the middle of the night.  I'd get welts and even vomit if she didn't.  The summers are relatively mild where I lived so central air wasn't standard like it is here.  I'm a big fan of wool socks (My favs are from Yaktrax) and cozy fleece!

I don't like extremes either way. I sometimes carry the mail route (even though I'm technically a clerk) so I have to be out in it for hours at a time. And I'd prefer moderate cold over extreme heat. But extreme cold, nope nope nope. Below about 10 degrees, that's just too cold for me. Everyone says you can always put on more clothes. . .but not if you want to walk :lol3:. And I can never cover my face much because I wear glasses and they steam up, so my face is always cold. And your toes never really thaw all the way in that kind of weather. It's more survival than anything. Plus, it's a nuisance to have to bundle up like that. When it takes you 10 minutes to get undressed enough to go to the bathroom, that's too many layers ;).

I can get cool easier than I can get warm---with ice water and a towel, I can make myself downright cold no matter how hot it is. But there's just no way to totally warm up when it's below zero unless you curl up under an electric blanket and even then it takes a while. Except if you're in a sauna. . .we need more saunas. Like Finland!

Heat, heat, heat, heat, heat. Give it to me!

From October to about the end of April, I'm simply miserable. It's not until the weather really starts to warm up that I feel better. It can be in the 90s and you will rarely hear me complain about it.

But let it drop below 60 and ........... it's so not pretty.

I do better with cold than heat.  I will often get a sick headache when I get overheated.  It will also always make me sleepy.

That is tricky to decide. Both extremes can feel painful!

But since I have been part of a cold climate all my life, cold would be my choice based on my own personal knowledge and adaptation.

Plus I love all the cozyness, from fireplaces to hot drinks :)

And I admit I don't fancy too hot when it is humid (makes me feel funky, gunky and easily tired) or dry (makes me more thirsty)

Too cold. I can always layer up, and I'm almost always cold somewhere (usually hands and feet) so I'm kind of used to it. It's a good excuse to drink hot liquids like tea and hot chocolate (or even just plain hot water like I do
) too!

Too cold because you can add easily, but subtracting is a lot harder. Not to mention socially unacceptable.

I do not like either extreme.  As some others have said, with the cold you can add layers of clothing, so that is easier to deal with.  With the heat, you end up either sitting focusing on breathing, or going from one a/c locale to another.

My preferred season is SUMMER!!!  I am outdoors almost all day long.  Gardening, walking the dogs, puttering around the yard, or sitting reading with a glass of ice tea!  Hate these winter months with the dark and cold, I feel so isolated. Which is funny because the things I do in summer do not generally involve other people!
