My cat Ishe develiped stomatitis After she had her teeth pulled ,she came to me with many problems she was deserted in an apt. and I guess the home owner fed her ocasionally but I think she lived that way for a year or more.

she is a flat faced persian, she was put on 18 mg cyclosporine, and 1/4 tab of a 250mg tab of azithromycin every 3rd day, after the initial flare up she was doing pretty well then nov.came holiday time the cyclo. has to be compounded and the only person who did this at the pharmacy went on vacation could not find another place to fill it she went without it for 8days.

well ot came back really bad.my Ishe never did well on any kind of meds they always had side effects on her but when I did finally get it refilled she is not bouncing back as well as the first time and a higher dose was tried and it just totally makes her worse in other ways head tremors, unsteady walk (back end) and very unhappy.the internist told me months ago to try adding lysine but I could not find it but 1 bottle in CVS the pills are HUGE and even though she would be taking just a half of one its too big to give her and to top it off from first day I took her she had bowel problems, constipation always so she also takes lactulose and cissipride.

Now with this 2nd bad flareup she hasn't been going daily again! I finally found the lysine liquid chicken flavored and before I purchase it I wantd to see if I could find anyone who has used the liquid, powder on food is a no no she won't eat it on top or mixed in her food and I have to put enough pills down her throat as it is.

I can't bear seeing her uncomfortable, she hasn't even been playing and lately all she does is go back and forth to two sleeping spots,I am a disabled person spend much time in the house and It breaks my heart to see her like this, having to see how she is affected by this 24hrs around the clock, bringing her to vet today for checkup.I'll be totally honest since I've lived in west palm beach fla I have not found vets to being very good healers,It seems they make you come back constantly before someting is diagnosed or your kitty never really gets totally well.

That is why I joined this web site to see if anyone in it has cats with the stomatitis or and the herpes problem and if so how have they proceded with their care and its outcome. I do so need to hear from any cat lovers that may have this same problem. also some replys on the chicken flav.lysine I'd like to order some asap thanks everyone Angela (Ishe)
