We're at day two of my cat bring home for treatment for hepatic lipidosis. She's got an esophageal feeding tube placed andvis doubg well with her feeds. While she's not completely her normal self, she's quite bright (especially in comparison to some of the kitties I've been reading about online).
When I went in to check on her this morning, I gave her one piece of dry food and she gobbled it down. I offered a few more and she ate them too. I only gave her a couple of peuces as when she was being discharged, i asked about dry food and the vet said wet will be more comfortable for her to get down past the tube. I'm going to call him when they open but am also wondering if anyone else has fed dry food with an oesophageal tube placed? I don't want to cause issues with the tube but of course i want to encourage her to eat on her own.

In addition, i understand that dry food is total junk but this cat is totally addicted to it and i actually believe her HL is caused from a switch to wet food (I did it quickly as our older boy got urinary crystals) so I'd rather she eat that than have something like this happen again.
