Good morning!

I used to collect those little Winnie the Pooh vending machine eggs for about two years - Peek a Poohs, just adorable little Winnie in costumes. My brother used to give them to me as gifts too, but it was too expensive a "hobby" and they're easy to lose. They're $2 each and since it's more or less random, you end up with duplicates and really.. what's the value? I didn't intend to collect them, I just amassed them because they were cute. Stuff like this, but they came out with LOTS of costumes for him:

In my childhood, I collected Pokemon toys (I have over 100 small plastic characters somewhere) and Pokemon cards (over unique 250 cards including items and such, many duplicates of each). When my little cousin asked me when I was 12 if he could have ALL of my Pokemon cards, I guffawed and said no.

Also, when Burger King ran promos for Pokemon I went and got all of the gold plated characters in Pokeballs. Those are in the hallway closet. I left all this stuff at my parents' place. I was hardcore on Pokemon during the original 150 character, first series run.

Those Winnie the Pooh toys are cute!

I collect coins from foreign countries.  I don't have pictures of any on hand.  Someday I'll make it a better organized collection; but right now I just have them in small containers.  A good part of my collection came from a gem and mineral show.  One of the vendors there was selling some random things along with the jewelry he'd made.  He told me it was his father's collection that he had picked up in his travels over the years.  They were loose in a basket so I went through it and picked out ones I thought were pretty and from a variety of countries.  When I lived in New York it was common to find Canadian coins in change at the store.  I've been to Mexico so I have a few coins from there too.  Years ago here on TCS one of our members from the UK heard about my collection and mailed me a few coins too.  Then my mother spent a few years as a nanny for a couple. The husband was from India and the wife from Malaysia; so they gave her a few coins for me as well.  Then one day the husband received a book he'd purchased used on Ebay and it had some paper currency from Brazil.  Its the equivalent of about $20 US dollars.  He gave that to me and I do keep that one in my curio cabinet.  It's just neat to look at.

What I would REALLY love to have is some ancient Roman coins!  I have seen those for sale on Ebay and in one antique store I visited; but I'd be so afraid it wasn't real.  I know many have been recovered in various parts of the former Roman Empire; but still.  My FIL has visited Europe twice in the last few years and I asked if he would bring me back some coins from the countries he visited; but unfortunately he forgot.  He did bring back some gorgeous, frame-able pictures that he took himself.  Those probably get more enjoyment from the rest of my family.
(Oh..he also gave me a very nice pendant from Turkey that I believe he'd intended for a girlfriend but the relationship ended.  He has 2 daughters he could have given it to; so I was touched he gave it to me instead.  I'm not sure if either of my sister-in-laws know about it. That was certainly more valuable of a gift than the coins.)

I am not actively collecting anything, but in the past I've collected thimbles - which started on a vacation when I wanted to get something that was a memento but not very big, and it mushroomed.  I also have a collection of coins - US and foreign - which I can't afford to keep going with anymore.  Oh, and postcards. It's hard to even find postcards any more.

Nothing right now here either. I used to collect bells, just regular bells. Mom started me on it when I was younger. It got to the point that wherever I went, we bought a touristy-type bell, so I have them from all over the US now. And some from Canada.

Used to collect Fantastic Four comic books, but gave that up, too, although I still have my collection.

I have collected "animals on a basket" fro years now and display them on shelves around my kitchen near the ceiling. I have everything from the most common hen on a basket, roosters, bunnies, dogs, deer, everything I can find! Of course my favorite is my 'cats in a basket', they look the most natural, laying in a basket! I hope some day they will be worth something, I did find many in antique shops, and have some very pretty 'slag glass' chicken sets I inherited. I love them just as they are.
