Just got back from my regular pet store visit. I saw there is now a grain free canned science diet.

Ingredients don't look awful do they? Even has lysine. Is this new? Pet store teenager couldn't tell me.

And does it look worth a try?

I've never seen that before but its been a long time since I've looked at Hill food.

It looks pretty good.  Too bad its loaded with veggies but much better than the corn, wheat, etc.

I thoughts the veggies were a bit excessive too but for science diet it seems a marked improvement from the by-products and fillers

It's definitely too bad there's so much potato and pea in it... according to their site, it's 32.9% carbohydrate (NFE, something I wasn't familiar with), dry matter basis, which is very, very high! By comparison, protein is 33.3%. It's doubly too bad about the carbs because it doesn't have carrageen or any of the gums.

I wouldn't/couldn't serve it because of the potato, which seems to make one of our cats barf. I wish these companies would knock it off with the starchy vegetables!

I think they add the peas and potatoes as filler.  Just my opin.
