I love Reggae to death but I hate those rough sandpaper licks, her cold wet nose in my face or the feel of something that close to my face sniffing. Sorry. I just don't. I love hugs and for her to sit in my lap. Can she be trained not to get in my face? Last night as I was sitting, when she got in my face, I'd move her to my lap and she'd turn right around and go for the face. So I'd put her on the floor. She finally took a nap in my lap, I don't know if it was b/c she was learning what I was trying to teach her, or she was just exhausted from jumping from the floor back to my lap
Should I employ treats? I don't want to overdo it with the edible treats though.

Hi Luv, I have exactly the same problem with my new kitten. Or at least I had - cause it's relatively sorted now. When I got Domino, he would keep me awake for hours every night, licking my nose, chin and cheeks and trying to sleep on my face (Mouthful/noseful of fur - spit - spit).
What I started doing is this: Everytime he came for my face, I would blow in his face. This would startle him away and he would leave me alone. It took about three days for the training to sink in fully, but last night he didn't even try to lick or lie on my face, instead he made himself comfortable on my neck - which is better.
Good luck!

You can also take bitter apple and add it to your hand lotion. Shake your bottle really well and apply the lotion to your face, neck and hands. One sniff and kitty will usually find something else to bother.
