Salutations! Happy Tuesday!

What brand of painkillers do you use?

(For everyday discomforts - headaches, cramps, soreness etc)

Advil liquid gels for me. Happily fast and effective. Aspirin never worked for me, tylenol is so-so and the red advils would give me hematuria if I am not careful. And so forth and so forth!

And if in the case of a headache for example, I will also do other things like drink more water.

Basically whatever Ibuprofen I can get. I usually bring a big bottle of Advil liquid gel caps back with me when I visit the States.

I almost never take painkillers. When I got my wisdom teeth out, they gave me a few Tylenol 3s (under prescription, obviously) and I took one before bed for two nights because I was afraid eventually I would feel pain when the freezing wore off and I didn't want to be woken up like that (I had zero pain anyway). I still have a bunch left. Other than that, I keep Advil on hand for headaches, whatever is on sale. Right now I have the Liquigels.

I've only bought Aspirin once, and it was to make acetylsalicylic acid masks because do you have any idea how soft that stuff makes your skin!? I should get more soon...

Right now I have Aleve liquigels, normally I use Advil.  I had a shoulder impingement that lasted a very long time and I was taking the Aleve for the inflammation.  My shoulder finally healed up but I still have a good part of a large bottle of the Aleve left.

I have all three on hand, Tylenol, Aleve, and Ibuprofen, and kind of interchange them. One time I'll take Tylenol, etc. I take Aspirin to prevent blood clots as my grandmother had a lot of mini strokes from clots. I don't use any of them very often, but really think Aleve does the best job on things like backaches.

I always have Ibruprofen on hand and that's what I like to use. In the last couple of years my menstrual cramps have gotten quite bad sometimes, so I've taken Teva Naproxen which really works great.

Nothing. I have developed an allergy to pretty much all OTC pain meds. I can't take anything at all. There are days when I would sell my soul for two Advil tablets.

Usually aspirin (it works best for me for some reason, plus when I was younger and got bad cramps, anything else would make me throw up so I developed a small aversion to Advil and Tylenol). Sometimes naproxen but that doesn't work for headaches for me, oddly.

Advil.  You can take up to 4 at a time per several doctors instructions.  Works fantastic on cramps especially.

It doesn't work, however, for migraines or the arthritis in my knees and neck.  I've tried every OTC pain reliever for the arthritis and not a one has helped. Then again, even real painkillers don't seem to help so I take nothing for it.

Migraines, I take Imitex (generic sumatriptan).  That works really great and fairly fast.

It depends on what it's for; for some headaches it has to be excedrine.  Tylenol on it's own doesn't work for some.  But if its at night time I'l take the generic tylenol.  If it's muscle pain I go for ibuprofen.

Generic aleve. It works for me sometimes.. sometimes it doesn't. For cramps I use midol as aleve doesn't nothing for them. I have had a few teeth extracted and ibuprofen didn't touch the pain so my dentist had to prescribe hydrocodone (which is like viocdin) and it knocks out the pain and I get to sleep for a few hours. It makes me super drowsy but kills the pain.

Goody's or BC powders. These seem to be a southern thing.
I remember my mother used BC powders and I am 58 years old.  I didn't know they still made them, I grew up in Kansas and that was the only thing my mother used for headaches.

They sure do still make them. Wal Mart sells them. They are pretty inexpensive, too. They work so well but taste terrible.

VODKA!

No just kidding. I use Bufferin, which is a Japanese brand. Even though I spend an hour or two exercising every day I work sitting at a computer (Usually with a cat on my lap) so I get lower back pain some times.

I am breastfeeding and feel ibuprophen is safer then tylenol.  Was really sick and high fever to point I was having trouble walking/caring for baby.  200mg took care of the fever for 8 hours and eased the aches.
