HI everyone

my baby girl Nala is currently in the animal hospital because on Sat she had real watery diarrhea, and she was going every  15 min but then later on she vomited once and it was just brown liquid then she vomited 2 more times and it was clear.  The next morning I brought her to the vet and she was dehydrated, but he said he would do some x-rays to see if she may have swallowed something and she had a fever.  So it came back that the xray was good.  And her fever broke on Sunday she wast eating but the vet told me today that she would take food with the syringe but she was eating on her own.

But he then said she still has diarrhea not water now but mushy stool and it smells bad he said he did a ultrasound and he saw a white shadow by her bowels  he doesn't know for sure what it was but he is testing and he did say MAYBE it could be cancer that was all I heard though and I am panicking

She seems to be getting better from what he told me.  Eating on her own her stool is not water there was never blood in her stool or vomit when the blood work came back only her white blood cells were high (which could be from stress when they did the test)  I would think she would be getting worse not better if she had something wrong with her like she wouldn't eat etc.

My question is could the white shadow perhaps be backed up bowels??  or something that is not too serious

Please help in easing my mind guys

I know it is so very hard NOT to panic, but try not to worry until you know for sure. With a high white blood cell count it could be an infection, it could also be a benign tumor. It COULD be a hundred things, all of which can be fixed, so don't worry until you have to. Start praying, I'll pray for your sweet baby too. Sending lots of healing vibes your way!

Nala could have something fairly minor, such an infection. The smelly poop could indicate an infection. Did he prescribe an antibiotic, such as flagyl, to help with the diarrhea? I know it's scary, but try not to worry.

When my girl had a furball obstruction, which required emergency surgery, my vet called me and told me that her stomach tissue looked extremely fragile and that my girl could have cancer. I was very scared while waiting for the biopsy. However, it came back negative. Sometimes, things appear worse than they are.

Try not to worry! It could be something fairly minor that can be treated fairly easily. Worrying won't help. Just wait and see what your vet tells you. I will pray that it's something minor. Sending good vibes your way! :vibes::vibes::vibes:

I have to echo everyone else.  Try not to worry.  Unfortunately, I think you will find that most people go into a panic the minute the C word is mentioned and everything else the vet says becomes blurred and foggy.  There are several other things it could be.  Let the vet do his/her thing and see what comes up.  You and Nala are in my thoughts.
