I have two male cats. Both are around 3 years of age. They recently started sneezing...sporatically...not like sneezing fits. They don't have any discharge from their eyes, nose or mouth. Their noses feel a tiny tiny bit more moist then usual, but the secretion is very clear like normal.

Any idea what this could be? It's been two days...if it persists through tonight I am going to make a vet appointment. I am keeping my apartment really warm too...thinking maybe they caught a chill.

Ugh, it's always something...you know?

I'd say since you just recently brought Charlie home from Petsmart (right?) he probly has a little URI. If there is no runny nose and eyes just sneezing it should go away on its own. If you see green mucous coming out of their nose or very runny eyes they need antibiotics from the vet.

I agree with Sicy.

Something else to consider: If your cats have had no other problems, show no runny nose or eyes, and this just started, it could be as simple as your place being too dusty.

There's no place like home
Another thought to consider - you probably have your whole place closed up for the winter. The dust is closed in and it's starting to get dry in there. Vacuum the house very good (including under the furniture) and try a humidifier and/or vaporizer on them for a while. I do have cats that start sneezing in the fall when I shut the house up and the added moisture helps them. But everyone is right, if it keeps up, starts getting mucosy or runny eyes, you need to get them to a vet.

Thank you so much everyone! I mentioned it to an adoption agency leader and she told exactly what you said...just to make sure the fluid doesn't have any color to it. I am anally clean about my apartment and vacuum and polsih my furniture ever 3 days or so, but maybe I will go under the couches really well.

I also try to let a lot of airflow through the place during the warmer parts of the day, especially since Einstein (the maine coon) loves to look outside.

Thank you everyone...I will keep an eye on it!

You havent told us how Charlie is adjusting to everything?? Is he hiding still? Is he affectionate? Does he get along with your other cat? I remember your previous posts that's why I am curious!

Awwhhh, thanks for asking!
We let Charlie out of my bedroom about a week ago and he is adjusting beatifully. He uses my other cat's litter box and eats and drinks fine. He wakes us up in the middle of the night by pawing at our faces and kneeding our feet. He really wants to play with Einstein, my other cat of equal age...but Einy runs away. Not toomuch hising however...they sort of ignore each other.

His smelly breath is gone and so is the dark drool...he appears to be perfectly healthy. Einy is the one that is sneezing a little now...we shall see what happens!

Thanks again for your advice, everyone!

That is so wonderful. I am so glad to hear Charlie is doing fine!!! I was worried that because he lived in a closet for 2 years that he might have some issues.
