It looks like my 9 month old cat got into a house plant. She vomited a little bit of it up and now has diarrhea. She missed the litter box a bit so as I was cleaning some up I saw some plant residue in her stool as well as a little bit of blood. Am I okay to just watch her and see how she does? What should I do?

What was the plant exactly? How long ago did she get into it? How long ago did she vomit? Is she acting lethargic? has she eaten since then?

Please answer ASAP because the answers really will impact what you need to do.

If you want to be safe, the best thing is to take her to an emergency vet right now, but like I said, the answers to my questions above will definitely color what you should do.  Some house plants are potentially fatal to cats and if it is one of those, she must go to a vet.  Certain others it might be okay to watch her closely if she is acting normally.

I am sorry this happened to your kitty,

I am not sure exactly what the plant is, it was given to our family after a relative passed away a year or so ago. It is a plant with no flowers or anything, just big leaves. All one shade of green. I believe it was about 3-4 hours ago that she got into it and I think she vomited a little bit right after she ate it. She ate some canned Tiki Cat after she got into the plant and hasn't thrown up at all. She has just had the diarrhea since then. She appears to be acting normal otherwise. I am a little on edge, we usually have the door closed where that plant is but it must have gotten left open by accident. ):

Update: So far, she has not had diarrhea since last night. She just ate half of a 3 oz. can of Tiki Cat with no issue. Do you think she will be okay to continue to watch?
