I am NOT saying FF is bad but if my cats are eating that they will not touch anything else . It is time for a change .

So I need suggestions please . I am not worried about them eating wet food , they love it . Just need to find a few brands that they like ..  I have a few requirements though ..

I have to be able to buy local , Petco or Petsmart , Pet Life ..

It has to 5.5 to 6 oz cans  & no more than  $1.50 per can .

It has to be Pate  , No fish please ..

It has to grain free  , No  meat by-products or  MSB..

Because my cats like their wet food so watered down

( 3oz mixed with 3oz hot water and split between them twice a day )  I only need to use one 5.5  or 6oz  can a day so I can afford to give them a good quality can food ..

Don't worry they don't starve , they get one meal of kibble . NV Instinct Grain Free Chicken .

Thank you ..

My first suggestion would be Merrick.   It's cheaper than most of the higher end brands.  It's very moist food which I like.   I recently began feeding the duck and chicken pate to my 2 and they enjoy it, especially the duck.   Try mix it in with their FF to start them out.

Awesome , I will put it on my list ..

I bought   three 5.5 oz cans ( $1.49 each )  of Natural Balance L.I.D  ....  Chicken , Salmon , Duck

I bought at a little pet store near my house  ..

I would like to get at least 3 brands so I can rotate daily ...

I called Pet Life , they sell Daves Canned Cat food @  $ 1.29 for a 5.5 oz can  .. Awesome ...

Natural balance ultra or indoor flavors or chicken & liver were popular with my cats, good for rotation but not grain free! Both my cats like grain but the female vomits from it. Merrick chicken or duck Pates are staples in our rotations, along with nutro natural chunky chicken loaf (only small cans),pride by instinct rabbit, duck, lamb, tiki cat Puka luau chicken, catatouille stew by natural balance, wellness Devine duos chicken/duck. My boy eats anything, thank god. When Miss Thang snubs a food he gets it, no problem. She likes all of the above. She will also of course eat Fancy Feast in a pinch, don't all cats? Merrick has no potato and no rice. Frany of ask.com highly recommends natural balance as a good healthy bargain. My pet smart is having a clearance on 5.5 oz pride cans $1 off a can. I stocked up on rabbit, lamb and duck. Chewy.com has natural balance on sale now.

I feed raw BUT would feed Fancy Feast if price restricted a canned food budget. fancy Feast Classic only though. The Classic is grain free and has limited ingredients. It doesn't have all those fillers like peas and potato's. Natural Balance limited ingredient's does and it costs more. ANY wet food is much better for a cat than any dry food, even the most expensive.

As much as I love feeding raw if I had to coax a sick cat to eat I would begin with the FF classic chicken.

Oh , I agree . There is nothing wrong with FF . But my cats have been eating it for so long and will try nothing else when  they are eating FF so it has to go .

Yeah , I will not go with the NB L.I.D again . They are not crazy about that one . I think it may be the peas ..

I have a good mix (10) of several proteins, textures and brands now I will stick to it, all thumbs up![emoji]128077[/emoji][emoji]128077[/emoji][emoji]128077[/emoji][emoji]128077[/emoji][emoji]128571[/emoji][emoji]128571[/emoji][emoji]128571[/emoji][emoji]128571[/emoji][emoji]128062[/emoji][emoji]128062[/emoji][emoji]128062[/emoji]

Yeah , I  heard mixed reviews on the Hound & Gatos  .  I really hope my cats like it . Here is it pretty reasonable $ 1.39 to $ 1.59 per 5.5 oz can ..

I only got 3 cans but hoping they like it ..  I can't do Nutro cause it is only 3 oz cans .  Natures Variety is too expensive for me ..

Daves is supposed to be good , I read some good reviews plus it is affordable for me at only $ 1.29 for a 5.5 oz can ..

I will try all of these in the next few days ..

You crack me up, 2cats4me. I love reading about your cat canned feeding adventures. We were in the same boat when our cats wouldn't touch wet food. Finally got Mosi on canned Purina One Pairings for one meal a day. Don't want to push it due to it being only 3 weeks now and I really don't like the ingredients. Batch to batch isn't consistent either.
I'm still trying other cans, but she is being stubborn. I tried a Dave's pate and she actually ate a few bites, but didn't care for the texture.

You can get deals online from retailers like Amazon, Chewy.com, wag.com and petfooddirect.com. Most of the premium foods cost more than $1.50 for a 5.5 ounce can, even Merrick, I think. What I suggest you do though is go to Petsmart, Petco or whoever, try a can of this and a can of that to see what they like and then buy that by the case from an online retailer. 5.5 ounce cans usually come 12 to a case. You'll get better prices and free shipping if you spend over a certain amount. I get a lot of food from Amazon through the subscribe and save program. You do not need to be a prime member to use this.

Anyway for pates, I think the best is Nature's Variety. They have a lot of flavors. It's not cheap though. That's where buying from Amazon, etc is your best bet. I was paying Petco $1.39 for a 3 ounce can of NVI chicken. I can get a case of that through my Amazon S&S for $22.94 for 24 3 oz cans (.96 cents a can) or $18.69 for 12 5.5 ounce cans ($1.56 a can) . The price depends on the retailer and the flavor. It is high quality food and the cats like it. My cats are picky about pates. They don't like the Halo ones much and every Merrick flavor tested was an epic fail.
