'ey guys.

Terra the Cat is one of those picky kitties who not only rejects every treat I bring her, but SCORNS it. I HAVE, however, found two flavors and one smell she LOVES: Gourmet cheese, and Red-Hot sauce. Red-Hot is tricky, but Cheese is easier. Problem is, she will have nothing to do with anything marked "Cat." Nope, only actual cheese that smells like Nicholas Sarkozy's private apartment meets the standards of Her Royal Imperial Kittyness.

I spoke with her vet this afternoon, and was told that cheese is about as good for cats as it is for people; not for the lactose intolerant, and in moderation. Cheese does not affect Terra's  G.I. tract in any way I can discern, and she LOOOOOVES it. My question for you is, are there any kitty treats out there that smell JUST LIKE aromatic cheese, like parmesan (Terra's favorite), or am I just going to have to purchase my cat treats in the gourmet cheese section of my local supermarket?

I know these are cheese flavored, at least partially. Not sure if they are as smelly as cheese is but may be worth a try?

Thanks! I'll give 'em a shot.

I might be worth noting that Tera the Cat's taste for treats is like an F-14 flying at Mach 1 that I am trying to hit with a handgun. Her taste in treats is CONSTANTLY changing, and she no longer eats Parmesan cheese. It might be that she just found the stuff I was giving her too salty, as she would stop, smack her chops, resume eating, rinse, and repeat. She also LOVED anything that was crunchy as a kitten, but now taste matters.

I have her on the same cat food she's eaten since kittenhood (Iams), which she willingly eats. I can never seem to find a treat she enjoys for long, tho. In addition to the treats Anne mentioned, I plan on buying a small block of Parmesan cheese (was feeding her grated out of a can, like what you put on pasta) to see if she goes for the same flavor, but with less salt.

I love Terra the Cat, and feel bad that I can't find a treat she likes. If any of you know of quality treats that come in less common flavors that a picky kitty might go for, please let me know!
