I have been caring for a 12 cat colony for seven years,  through illness or death only Karkat is left.  His outdoor  home is near my office in a wooded area off a parking lot where I have created a bed and feeding area for them

Karkat is truly gentle and loving, luvs to be petted and picked up and purrs when cuddled.  I would like to bring him indoors, but worry that after living outdoors seven years or more now he will be miserable.

I live in a townhouse with 2 older indoor cats, but thought he might do better in my office. (outdoor access is not available in either place)

I am anguishing over this due to his age.  Please help!

The only thing I can say is to try it. Bring him into the inside and give it a few days to get him used to it and see how it goes. Some cats love feeling safe so much that there is never a problem! If you can pick him up, and he loves to be cuddled, you are half way there. I would pick your office too, it is close to where he feels comfortable. If he is miserable, then you know you tried. How will you get him inside?

I practiced scruffing him and picking him up like that, and he is ok with that.  the open right- side up cat carrier is waiting closeby!  Karkat wont go near a trapping cage, he has seen too many of his siblings get  caught when they needed attention.
