In PetSmart tonight and found a new display of Purina Muse. Says its exclusive to PetSmart. They all say grain free. Any opinions? My kids get what I think is a pretty good variety of canned foods, such as Weruva, Tiki Cat, Nature's Variety, Fancy Feast Appetizers, Simply Nourish, Wellness Core and such, I'm wondering if this looks like a good one to add to the rotation.

I did not see the display in the store a couple (maybe 2) weeks ago. The cans are $1.09 regularly, on sale with their reward card for $1. The little tubs are normally $1.49 on sale for $1.29.

I wanted to post about this yesterday. Here is the info from the can of pate-style chicken:

Ingredients:

chicken, chicken broth, ocean whitefish, liver, spinach, sweet potato, blueberry pomace, potassium chloride, guar gum, choline chloride, taurine, salt, mono and dicalcium phosphate, thiamine mononitrate, vitamin e supplement, zinc sulfate, ferrous sulfate, niacin, calcium pantothenate, vitamin a supplement, copper sulfate, menadione sodium bisulfite complex (source of Vitamin K activity), manganese sulfate, pyridoxine hydrochloride, riboflavin supplement, vitamin b12 supplement, biotin, folic acid, vitamin d-3 supplement, potassium iodide.

Analysis:

crude protein (Min) 9%

crude fat (Min) 5%

crude fiber (Max) 1.0%,

Moisture (Max) 78.0%,

Ash (Max) 3.5%,

Taurine (Min) 0.05%

They sell 3 oz cans as well as appetizers in a little round plastic tray, around 2 oz.

FWIW, my suspicious eaters did well with the chicken pate but I couldn't sell them the tuna w/ spinach appetizer. Maybe the taste of the spinach put them off, which is a shame because the spinach isn't even necessary in the first place.

I couldn't find anything about it online and it doesn't even come up on petsmart.com, but it's definitely in the store and definitely made by Purina. I guess the advertising will eventually show up.

This was advertised in my local petsmart, but they didn't have it in stock yet. It said coming soon. I guess this is fairly new. I have been using wellness and simply nourish, but would love to try this also.

There is also a BOGO coupon (expires 3/1) for Muse in the Petsmart circular that is typically displayed by the entrance.

I saw the display at Petsmart, but there was no chicken. It was all just seafood varieties. It did look like real pieces of fish though. Most of the ingredients look good, but I am not sure if I would feed it to my cats. Like all Purina
products, it contains menadione sodium bisulfite complex, which (according to some people) could be a carcinogen. It also does not identify the source of the liver.

I finally saw this at Petsmart  the other day . It  looks pretty good but at $ 1.09 for a 3 oz can is too much for me ..

I got the buy one get one free coupon at the front entrance and thought i would try it. Let me tell you, my cat loved it. I just wish that there was some chicken, for all they had was seafood

I saw this display, and took 20 minutes checking it out. I did purchase a few different flavors.

My honey has a very fussy stomach and can only digest fish. I was searching for something that would add liquid/fluid to help with his bowel movements and was skeptic also at first, however when I opened the container, he came running.

He barely sniffed it and he dived in. Normally he is a grazer, but this time he sat there and finished the whole thing and didn't return to eat again until the afternoon (I was amazed). He doesn't even do this with the canned stuff.

I like it and don't be surprised if your cat gets spoiled after the first try. Mine now expects it and won't eat his regular dry food if he knows I have this in the house.

My finicky cat LOVES the Purina Muse chicken pate and beef pate. the ingredients are good and it's cheaper than "instincts" pate. And no stomach problems after eating.

Received a free sample of Muse Natural Seabass & Herring and it says a product of Thailand. Anyone else concerned. Try to feed only Made in USA products.

It is not exclusive to PetSmart. Just been given 3 free sample cans of the Muse pate chicken and carrot from my local Pet Supplies Plus store. My female calico (VERY finicky) and my redheaded male both love it. My female is having anal gland issues, and I hear grain free may help her. Muse is grain free - I'll have to wait and see if this helps her. If it does, then I am a very happy cat mama!

I just "discovered" this food too.I have to be careful because my one cat is diabetic and can't have anything greater than 7% carbs (so, NO dry food, AT ALL). I checked the ingredients in a cat carb calculator that I found online: http://scheyderweb.com/cats/catfood.html and it is roughly 3.5% carbs...., so that's a good thing.

My 2 cats will like food one morning, and hate it in the afternoon, so I have to keep a lot of varieties in the house.

However, I can't imagine paying for this stuff at Petsmart..., so expensive.

I would like to suggest to everyone here, please check out:  www.chewy.com

The prices are the MOST reasonable I have EVER seen online at Chewy's, and there customer service is the absolute BEST in the USA . Over $49.00 (which is so easy when you shop by the case), the shipping is free. I just ordered 3 cases of Muse from Chewy.com and will have my girls give me their opinion in a few days.

By the way, the Chewy boxes are LOVED by all in the household.... :)

Purina makes a few  high end products that I like, but the Muse brand seems to me to be overpriced.  Purina Pro Plan True Nature Classic and Purina Beyond are a better deal.

We just got an supply of the Muse food for the humane society. It seems the cats are gobbling it up!

We were using Authority and Petsmart's brand  in the yellow and orange containers.. sorry forgot name.. The cats absolutely despise the Authority brand...
