Hi! A stray kitty adopted us and brought her 2 kittens to live in our garage a few months ago. It is now their house with a heater, blankets and a kitty house That also has a heating pad in it. The kittens don't let us touch them but are always around us when we are outside. It is like they want to be petted so bad but just are still too afraid. They are going to get neutered in the spring. They come when you give them treats but still run away when trying to pet them. Mom cat is super friendly and loves attention & we got her neutered. Do you think they will ever come around?

Yes, I think they will.  Does the mom allows herself to be petted?  If so, try to do your pet trials when she is near, and preferably - when she is petted.  Be also sure they see when you pet her.   Do talk a lot with soft, friendly voice.  Dont do hasty moves...

Otherwise, the quickest way to socialize them is if they are inside.  It becomes more intensive, and easier.

Also, its super important they are neutered soon.  You dont want to risk they become pregs.  They can be pretty young, 4 months isnt not unheard of, 6 months is rather common.

Please come with reports and new questions!

Good luck!

So glad you got mom spayed.  But I would suggest you get the kittens fixed as soon as possible.  It is not unheard of that cats can get pregnant in winter.  Even if they are both boys, getting them fixed will help with socializing them.  They will become mellower and more affectionate.

You may need to borrow or buy a trap, just to get them to the clinic or vet where they will be fixed.  It won't hurt them but it will make getting them a lot easier.  Once they are inside, you can give them a room of their own, where the socializing can begin.
