Apples and bananas. Apples for me and bananas for Rick.
I like Granny Smith apples, just sliced for a morning snack. But there's also apple pie, apple dumplings, apple sauce, apple fritters, apple pan dowdy, apple butter and then apple butter BBQ sauce....well, there are a lot of foods you can make with apples.
As for Rick's bananas, he only eats them strictly as a banana in the morning with his breakfast. I hardly ever make anything with bananas, unless it's a banana cake or something like that.
Bananas are the only ones I eat consistently. I don't like when fruit is chilled because especially in the morning, I don't want cold teeth (and it's too big a contrast when I have hot oatmeal). I'll eat it alone, sliced on cereal or oatmeal, on/in pancakes, and in banana bread.
They have to be in season, so I can't only have one... Mangoes in Summer when they aren't too outrageously expensive, and berries, especially blueberries, in Winter.
Bananas! I buy a lot of fruit in general; but I try to focus on getting the ones that are in season. Except bananas. My husband and son could each eat one a day.
I buy a lot of fruit and eat some every day. For sure I have apples. But I buy grapes, tangerines, oranges, bananas, fresh pineapple, strawberries, kiwi fruit, cantaloupe and watermelon. It depends on what is in the store. I love fruit and I eat lots of it.
