This really sounds like the same fine print that you will find on any contract with the tag line about so many days or months same as cash.
It is, but the interest on the Care Credit is much higher than the regular credit cards. At least it was when I was looking into it.

Care credit depends upon people not paying attention to their finances, it doesn't feel any different when the outlandish interest charges hit your account.   So if you are going to use it set up some sort of system that reminds you every month when it is due, when the grace period runs out etc.  And work on, as fast as possible, getting that balance off there and onto a regular credit card via a 0% balance transfer check.   You think you are going to pay it off on time, but something happens and then you can't.  That's what they count on.

It's great to hear people talking about this though.  When I was young it was against the law to charge outrageously high interest rates.

I don't think everyone is in a position to use savings, another credit card or have pet insurance. When you don't have anywhere else to turn because of bad credit, no credit, divorce, bankruptcy ... this card is there because they do extend credit to a lot of people who can't get a credit card hence the interest rate. Those individuals can now get the care their pet needs instead of keeping the cat at home with no care or euthenizing because they don't have the money for the care. If your in the above situation Care Credit can be an answer to help your pet.

No they definitely aren't, but you can make bad credit even worse so that even care credit cuts you off.

I think the take away is that if you need care credit and have care credit, then do anything possible to get that debt transferred to another card.

That's how I do it too, and I have the Amazon credit card which gets me points so I can get stuff I need / want on Amazon for free. Then transfer it to a 0% to pay it off over a  year or so.  I looked at Care Credit and it scared me to death.
what's an amazon credit card?

Almost sounds like you're borrowing from big money lenders with high interest.

Amen to that. As  usual it's the little people without huge bank accounts who get screwed. We need Robin Hood as the little ones are the ones who get screwed and the banks, and others get richer than anyone should be. Prying on the poor, business as usual.

There should be usury laws, no wonder they were even in the Christian Old Testament, not that this kept anyone from charging huge interest but at least it made others sneer at them.

Ever notice that after Christmas those ads for consolidatng your debts are sprouting on TV like mushrooms, usually on shows aimed at women and the lower economic classes? It's not only overspending that puts people into debt but downsizing, illness, accidents etc.

We need universal healthcare and Obamacare is the first step in the right direction. Every other civilized country (and some not so cilvilized) has it but people in the US consider it socialism and equate that with communism.

It wasn't even Obama who first thought of that, it has been proposed by various presidents, Republican and Democratic, for the last 50 years but Obama managed to push it through so now he's the bad guy. We need health insurance for ourselves like we need it for our pets just to keep our heads above water.

I only used one of those deferred interest cards once.  I was so afraid I'd forget or just miss the interest free window, it drove me nuts.

I don't know what that last sentence means, must be an English expression.

For Amazon : punch www.Amazon.com into your searchbar and see what comes up. It should direct you to their website and show you all the stuff you can buy from/ through them, from books and movies to fans, kitchen equipment to tools etc etc.. They are international and a lot of their things are sent to you from the original vendor, not from Amazon directly. But their warranties and complaint dept is at Amazon. I have found their prices to be lower even than going to a local store, stuff over a certain price lots of times has free shipping.

I used Care Credit for my cats surgery a few months ago. Introductory rates are 0 credit. Just like all other credit cards the interest is cumulative if the balance is not paid after the first year. Then it jumps to around 26%. I keep it for emergencies. I haven't had any problem with them adding charges or anything like that. They are just like any other credit card- they are good for emergencies.

That's good if you are able to put money aside. We are pretty much living paycheck to paycheck (mine), and can barely afford enough for our insurance premiums and putting into the HSA to cover the amount the company matches.  Maybe one of these days I'll figure out how to save something extra.
i'm sure you're doing the best you are able to to provide for emergencies.

I see. So no good for me. Hey Ho.
It must be something like Amazon Payments which I checked out on Amazon uk. Only you can use the Amazon Card from Chase Bank everywhere else also just like any other credit card. However, you apply for it at the Amazon website, not at a bank. My card also gives me points just like the uk card for stuff I buy at Amazon. I usually save them up until I can get something for just points.

Sorry. My phone and TCS don't get on well.
Far from London and then go to Scotland to see a friend. I won't be able to afford the airfare so will go first class by train. It's only 5 hours lol. Still I'll see scenery.
still these are just plans.
How are you - how are you keeping. I didn't realise it's a British saying. So how are you keeping :-)
