Over the last month I have been trapping and releasing some ferals at my house. I finally got the kittens and have them inside, they are small so I am trying to socialize them so they can be adopted. I know momma cat is still outside, and I am afraid she is now in the heating duct. I can hear the "bowing" sound of someone in there, and I am not sure she can get out, cause if she heard the babies crying she might have tried to get to them. Who do I call for this? I have already spent all extra funds I have on the trapping and releasing, and I am renting a friend place and I cant have it destroyed. I am at a loss...I don't know what to do. I am in Nashville tn.

Do you see any entry point where she could have climbed into the heating duct?   If you see the opening maybe put some smelly tuna fish right there so you can catch her.

I had a cat get into the heating duct but it was inside the house. Didn't know she got in till I heard rustling from the duct in another room. I think she will get out the way she got in, that's how Lilly eventually came out, I think the next day. I just left the grill off. Enticing her with food is your best bet, don't think you need someone yet.

Are you sure she is in the ducts? They are not usually open to the outside unless the furnace needs a small opening to intake air? I really don't know much about this. What kind of heat do you have? Maybe call whoever installed the furnace? I'm just taking wild guesses here. Call your friend or scout around the house for the opening.

Good luck!
