Welcome!!  He is absolutely adorable. Do yourself a favor and get him used to regular brushing/grooming  ASAP. That beautiful fur looks like it's going to be long. You don't want mats. They are a giant pain to get out.

Thank kat0121, I met his dad who was HUGE and long haired so I think he will end up the same. I brush him every other day and he enjoys it, he sits on my lap and purrs so he doesn't mind being groomed at all. It's a bit harder to cut his nails though, he squirms about so I have to do one paw at a time

Thanks Tammat :wavey:

He has grown SO much! He was tiny when I went to pick him out the litter at 8 weeks old. He's just over 4 months old now and is getting bigger by the day :D
His dad weighs over 20 pounds so I'm expecting him to be big

Look at the size of those paws!!! :rbheart:

Now that's a tough one Harley's dad, glad I don't have to make that decision.
Don't you love how a kitten's curiosity of life is so evident in there expressions, like a child.

I love his big furry feet!! And how much do you simply melt when you see such blue eyes? Your kitty is beautiful (as are your photos).

Thanks Sunny20 :wavey:

Yes his big furry feet are very cute, almost rabbit like. He loves having his paws massaged, starts purring straight away and finds it relaxing. Shame he doesn't like having his nails clipped though, he was hating that earlier today. I'm hoping he will get used to it over time :vibes:

Horatio :wavey:

Thanks! :rbheart: The breeder is sending me his full pedigree papers so I can show him if I want to, she and her friend that shows cats regularly both seem to think his markings and proportions are good enough to show. It wasn't something I was thinking about before getting him but he's turning out to be a handsome boy so maybe he could go win a blue ribbon - you never know!!

Is there an easy way to clip their nails or is it always going to be so difficult? He really doesn't like it :eek:hno:

There a some people here who show their cats. Maybe they can give you some advice on how to get started if your'e interested. @posiepurrs  shows her Persians (who are also gorgeous). He's definitely handsome that's for sure.

Harley has grown so much and is so beautiful. I would definitely look into showing him. He has so much personality; you can tell that by his pictures. I know you are so proud of him. I just can't get enough of looking at him. Gorgeous young man you have there.

I think clipping nails is easier if there are two people doing it, one to hold and pet the cat and another to do the clipping. Also, you don't have to do all four paws at once. I aim for two claws a day, a treat and a lot of praise, then another two claws the next day.

Thank you! I'm in love with him already! It was so hard to choose one from the litter because they were all beautiful kittens, but Harley walked up my arm and sat on my shoulder for a cuddle so I knew he was the one : )

This looks like an amazing site, I'm so happy I found it

Thanks Norachan. I already do exactly that, get my housemate to hold him while I clip his nails, and we are lucky if we get two paws done. I'm happy to get one done, he hates it. He cries really loudly and was biting my housemates hand last time. He's normally such a chilled out little guy, but as soon as we try to cut his nails, he goes mental. I watched the vet and the breeder do it really quickly and with no fuss, I can't work out what we are doing wrong :eek:hno:

I never clipped cat nails either, Harley's dad, but I know you will catch on. I think it's like anything else in life, it's all in our attitude and how we approach new situations that make us nervous. Once you get the "mechanics" of clipping down pat, focus on your calm/assertiveness and you will feel less nervous and Harley will be calmer during the procedure as well. Just a thought. You'll get there, dad.
