Hi everyone, I'm Sarah from Wisconsin. I'm pretty sure my love for cats started when I was a child playing with my Grandparents' barn cats on the farm. My mom was not a cat person so when I was 20 and on my own I found my best snuggle buddy, Molly. She recently passed away at the ripe old age of 15.
Smokie is her adoptive brother and is now 14. He was born to a stray at my in-law's home so we got to see him the day he was born and he's the true story of an ugly duckling. He's now a handsome (but slightly portly :))Seal Point or Siamese mix cat.
We are thinking about adopting a kitten in the future as Smokie loves company but still need sometime to grieve Molly. I will need some advice from you all on that subject when the time comes. Thanks for reading! Here's a pic of Smokie.

I'm sorry about Molly.
And I'm glad you and Smokie have each other.  Welcome to TCS--we have a friendly and knowledgeable community here and I'm sure you will be able to get some good advice about a new kitty when the time comes.

I'm so sorry to hear about Molly. It's so hard to lose a pet, isn't it?

Hello! lol I think your Smokie is beautiful!! I'm sorry to hear about your Molly, though... 15 years is a long time to be snuggled and loved; it sounds like she had had a wonderful time with you.

Hi, welcome to The Cat Site.

Smokie is gorgeous, I'm glad he's there to keep you company now that Molly has gone, it sounds like she had a long and happy life with you.

Welcome to the forum.

I am sorry to hear about Molly.

Smokie is not a spring chicken either, so maybe you should consider an adult rescue cat, as elderly cats do not always like to have a boisterous kitten around. They simply cannot keep up.

My Catweazle is nearly 16, and he tends to get irritated with the youngsters when they are zooming about and trying to engage him in play. He prefers the company of mature cats that do not pounce on him at every turn...

By the way, you got me there with your title...

When you said Cheesehead, I thought you were Dutch.

The Dutch are nicknamed the cheeseheads....

Thank you for the insight. Smokie is very playful and stills acts young so I don't think a new kitten will annoy him.

So the Dutch are cheeseheads to I see! Wisconsin is known for making cheese in the US and we are die-hard Packer fans who are nicknamed cheeseheads!

Welcome to TCS, but sorry to hear about your Molly.  Our Max & Phoebe are fast approaching 16 years, but they're still healthy and spry, so we're grateful for that.  Hopefully you'll find a playmate soon for Smokie - he's beautiful, by the way!  Max & Phoebe say 'hello', too!

Hello! I'm glad your kitties are happy and healthy! Smokie is sad and bored I think, so hopefully soon he'll have a buddy.
