Hello! I know I joined a cat forum before, but I don't think it was this one...

A little about me: My name is Maddi, I'm 23, and I work with preschoolers. I am also working on my BS in political science. My free time is usually stolen away by three cats, a mouse, two gerbils, a couple snails, and a fiance (hate that word)... And my fiance's Jack Russell, but I'm honestly not much of a dog person. lol

The cat in my profile picture is my beautiful Sunflower. We adopted her in early December 2001, and we had to say goodbye on 12/31/14. She had to have her eye removed in September 2012, and whatever the problem was returned in July 2014. She was my world, and losing her just crushed me. It's very cold and wintery, so I wasn't able to bury her. It seems like a silly thing to be sad about, not being able to bury her, but it does upset me. We're attending a memorial service hosted at the pet cemetery's chapel, hopefully it'll bring a little "closure."

In 2010, I adopted my Phantom "CryBaby." She's so incredibly similar to a cat I had around 1999, who died very unexpectedly. So the name Phantom fits perfect, but she also talks and talks and talks. I called her a crybaby after a series of high pitched, drawn out meows to get into the bathroom, and the name stuck. She's very sweet and laid back.

And my Harry. He's also a bit of a crybaby. He's about 12-13 weeks, now. Maybe 14? I can't remember, but he came to me when he was about six weeks old. I wasn't prepared for how playful a kitten is! lol

And the newest is Empurress Missy. She's 12, and she came from a no-kill shelter. She's only been with me for 48 hours, but is already very cuddly. And TALKATIVE. She can be a little growly if you try to brush her, but her skin is a little flaky. Maybe she'll adjust to it, the other two try to eat the brush. She has a pretty short tail, too.  I'm so very in love with her. Her adoption papers say she's a domestic shorthair/mix, but no one has had any ideas what "mix" would be. Not that it matters, she's pure mine.

Looking forward to peeking around! Thanks for looking.

Welcome aboard, Sunny20! I'm so sorry to hear about your sweet Sunflower.  I love the names of your kitties! And they are so cute ; I especially like Crybaby (the black cat) (I have a thing for black cats)!
