Hi everyone,

I am wondering if someone can help me out with what I discovered not too long ago.

As I was on my computer, my Siamese walked by and I noticed a bit of yellow around her eyes. I wasn't sure since my light has a yellow tint, but upon further inspection...her eye area, top of head, and belly have turned yellow (in patches). I tried to see if it was her skin or fur, and so far (since she's very mobile) I have only seen it to be her fur.

Has anyone's cat(s) gone through this? What does this mean?

She is still eating, playing, running around. Her behavior does not seem abnormal. I called the vet and they said to watch her overnight and see if it spreads and to go in tomorrow (since they close soon) if we need to.

Please someone let me know if this sounds familiar and if there is any help/advice y'all can provide.

Thank you so much.

Her fur is yellowed?

The skin as well or not?

Are her eyes yellow at all, I mean her actual eye/white area on her eye?

Yellow is a sign of jaundice caused by incompetent liver, regardless of the cause of the failure/incompetence.

If it is her actual fur, but not her skin, it sounds to me more like she may have gotten into something, such as some flowers will drop pollen, like lilies, I know my hands get all stained yellow when I am dealing with them.

Is she a healthy cat? Age?

catwoman707,

So, I tend to think about the worst every time something seems off. Turns out, it was just something she got into (possibly flowers). The yellow is wearing off and she's still active and eating/using the litter box. All is well.

Thank you for your concern.

Great to hear, and what I had thought when you said her fur is yellow but not her skin. It reminded me of when I get lillies and change their water. The yellow gets everywhere and stains.

All's well!! :)
